Farewell and thanks to two former fun guys

We hope that when you tune into a Mushroom FM show, it all sounds effortless. The reality is though that committing to a show on Mushroom FM is a commitment of more than just the hours that the show airs. The fun guys often think of themes and put music together based on them. There may be features that require some research, and often, we’re looking for things to say in our voice breaks that keep you interested. In short, it’s a bigger commitment than you may realise and I’m grateful to everyone who volunteers their time for Mushroom FM.

The Mosen Explosion launches the great kombucha experiment

If you're in Europe, and yes for the moment at least we can include the UK in that group, then you'll be pleased to know that with the clocks going forward in that part of the world, the normal relationship with Eastern US time is restored, so the jolly old Mosen Explosion is back when you usually expect it to start.

If you're in New Zealand, well, we're still in this crazy transitional period when it starts at 7 AM. I dunno, all this scary messing with time.

Mosen and the Snowman, Together again for the first time

What can we possibly do when Brian Dalton is doing other things in Dublin town, and can't welcome us to the weekend, eh? How are we supposed to carry on?

Well, the Snowman and I have been doing this radio gig, on and off the Internet, for a long time now, and we've always talked about getting on the air together and seeing what happens. Now, your luck has run out, because we're gonna do it. We're really, really, gonna do it.

The Mosen Explosion, Spreading a little Happiness

If you're happy and you know it, let's explode! Because 20 March 2016 has been decreed the International day of Happiness. I'm not making this soup up!

So we're exploding with four fun-filled happy hours on the happy little 'shroom. Are you happy? I'm happy to tell you that we'll be featuring songs this week that make you happy, so I hope this news makes you happy.

2 PM Eastern, 6 PM UK, The Mosen Explosion makes way for a special tribute to Sir George Martin

The Mosen Explosion is taking a break this week, as I bring you a four-hour tribute to Sir George Martin. It's part of a series of programmes we're running this week to celebrate and commemorate the life of this outstanding producer, arranger, composer and musician.

If you weren't able to catch the first airing of Brian Hartgen's programme where he showcased the work of Sir George outside the Beatles, then I encourage you to head to http://MushroomFM.com/schedule to find out when it replays at a time that works for you.

The Mosen Explosion. Not on TV, or even on Netflix

Hello cherubs! What a week it's been since we last exploded together! What a week! Super Tuesday, Super Saturday, Bonnie and I celebrated the fourth anniversary of our first long conversation when she co-hosted this very show, and and and...House of Cards Season 4! OMG and mega squeeness abounds! Ooooh that Frank Underwood is a nasty piece of work isn't he? I watch the whole 13 episodes of season four back to back I did. Now my sleeping patterns are all exploded.

It's Super Sunday, on The Mosen Explosion, and I approved this message.

Well we're not quite at Super Tuesday yet, which those of us following the US Presidential election are awaiting with considerable antici.............pation, but it's super Sunday on Mushroom FM, because every Sunday is super on Mushroom Fm when you're a part of it.

I'm Jonathan Mosen, and I approved this Explosion

After an enthralling day of US Presidential election watching, I'm back for four more hours of fun, frivolity and forgettable presentation with another Mosen Explosion.
Anything goes this week, but you can look forward to some particularly crazy wacky news, much of it from Florida and Ohio for some reason, and no, none of it has to do with the election.
We have a banana report this week, as there are several bananas experiencing some major life milestones.
Bonnie's here with her bulletin, and I hope you too will be in touch with your phone calls, tweets and emails.

On the Mosen Explosion, love is in the air, and on the air

This week, for valentine's day, we celebrate with the music of love. In those early stages of love, where you suddenly notice that the birds are singing, where the flowers seem to have become more fragrant, when you lose your appetite, music can be incredibly powerful. There's that song that just connects right with your heart in a way that leaves you in no doubt that its composer must have been thinking of your situation when it was written.

There are songs of love that isn't shared, where the person of your dreams doesn't know you exist.

Send your loved one a Mosen Explosion Valentine

It just so happens that the next Mosen Explosion will be aired on Valentine's day. We'll be dispensing with the wacky news and the history to bring you four hours of fantastic love songs, and I'd love it if you were involved in choosing what we play.

Whether the person that haunts your dreams has been with you for 6 months or 60 years, whether they're by your side or far away, love is something to celebrate and cherish.
