The Mosen Explosion in interesting times

When the Mosen Explosion goes to air this week, it'll be the 26th in our official time zone of US Eastern. But in little old New Zealand, it will be bright and early on the 27th. And by an incredible co-incidence, the 27th of June is the wedding anniversary of two regular contributors to the show. Remarkable how these things happen, eh? Bonnie is celebrating a wedding anniversary, which no doubt she will talk about in her Bonnie bulletin, and so too am I. How cool is that?

Farewell and thanks to jeremy Hartley

Sadly, for health and other personal reasons, Jeremy feels unable to continue to produce Say it with Jazz at the moment.

Those of us who've been loyal fans of Say It With Jazz have immense admiration for Jeremy's meticulous research and extremely high standard of presentation.

We'll miss having him around, and hope that his circumstances will allow him to join us again in future. We're glad he intends being a regular listener to the 'Shroom, so we'll all be able to keep in touch. Thanks Jeremy for your great contribution.

It's a Seasonal Mosen Explosion this week

Here in New Zealand, the nights they are cold. Many of our days are wet and windy. Yup, it's winter. On the other side of the world, Brian D is getting ready to hold his annual summer party! What a lucky dude. It helps him get over the football you see. And it was on 19 June 1936 that Tommy DeVito of The Four Seasons was born. Oh what a night!

The Mosen Explosion says, don't stop thinking about tomorrow

Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, doo doo doo, da doo, da deeeeee. And when the Mosen Explosion is on, tomorrow will indeed be only a day away with all its excitement and promise.

Apple will be revealing plenty of exciting new features on all its platforms, and we'll be covering that extensively with our awesome Tech Team show. Are you looking forward to the big reveal? What are you hoping for? We'll look forward to all your thoughts ahead of the big day.

Announcing @MushroomFMNow, real-time tweetsa bout what we're playing

As we blogged earlier this week, Mushroom FM is preparing to begin a new era with more fresh content so you can listen longer. That also means that we’re able to stream a lot more information through the title bar of your media player, and the Now Playing screen in many smartphone apps. TuneIn Radio will also show you what’s on more often, even before you start listening.

Mushroom FM is Silly

Well, at least it is for the two hours following Anne's escapade into the 80s this week, because Bonnie Mosen is indisposed due to the last leg of the triple crown.

Her obedient understudy, Jonathan Modem, is here instead. And I've decided that I should change my name for this show. So from 6 Pm Eastern, for just two hours, my name shall be Phillip in, or Phil in for short.

Next Monday, our Tech Team brings you comprehensive analysis of Apple's Big Reveal

Next Monday, Apple’s Worldwide developers conference begins with a big reveal. We’ll find out about many of the key new features in iOS 10, the operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch that will be released later in the year. We’ll learn about the name and feature set of the next version of the operating system for the Mac, which may even get a new name. There may be software announcements pertaining to Apple Watch and Apple TV, and who knows what other surprises Apple may have in store.

Next Monday, we're making big changes for the better

This blog post announces a significant new chapter for Mushroom FM, taking us in a direction we’ve not travelled before. It may be considered a radical new direction, so I’d like to take some time to explain to our loyal mushroom crowd what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and why we think that you’ll be glad we’re doing it.

One invites one to join one for Queen, on this week's Mosen Explosion

It feels like it's a long weekend every other week somewhere. But finally, it's New Zealand's turn. Major squee!
One is celebrating Queen's Birthday Weekend here, as one does on the first Monday in June every year. So it seems like a great opportunity to dust off those Queen albums and make Freddy and the boys one's featured artists on this week's Mosen Explosion. No one ever got fired for playing Queen tracks, one tells you, so one hopes that one is safe for another week.

A reminder: The Mosen Explosion's got live music with Mark this week

Yeah we've got the tunes mates, we've got the tunes.
The shows when mark Wilson puts in an appearance are always very popular, and he's back on this week's Mosen Explosion. The keyboard's connected to the mixer, the microphone is set up behind the keyboard in case Mark bursts into song, and we're ready to go live with the tunes. All we need now are your requests. Drop me an email to jonathan at mushroomfm dot com and let us know what you'd like to hear on the piano from Mark.
