Mountains, Valleys, Roads and More, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hello! Sara Hillis here to tell you about the next exciting episode of Come by the Hills, the Folk and Celtic music show on Mushroom FM! I've got songs about mountains, valleys, roads, and even more. We'll have a Me Music feature, and our usual three hours of fun and laughter.

The Rockumentary goes offshore, starting with "Caroline, Queen of the Pirates"

This weekend in our rockumentary slot, we begin playing a series of documentaries that we’re sure will be fascinating to many of our listeners.

Many of us love the medium of radio, and that’s why we either listen to or participate in Mushroom Fm. There’s something about the connection between broadcaster and listener, and there’s a special something about the music from the decades we feature here on Mushroom FM.

Rhythm & Booze: Bad, Bad Whiskey! this week on The Juke In The Back!

The "Juke In The Back" focuses on the " soul that came before rock n' roll," the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
The "Juke In The Back" once again raises a glass in our Rhythm & Booze series. This time, the entire program is dedicated to that Bad, Bad Whiskey. For some, whiskey ruined their happy home, but for others, a Half-Pint-A Whiskey set the stage for good times.

All About Angels on The Song Remembers When

I had no idea how many "angel" songs I would need to choose from when I came up with this week's theme! It took a while, but I'm excited to bring you an eclectic mix of music from country, to instrumental, to "oldies" to "monster ballads" and everything in between! I also play a song to celebrate our daughter, Elizabeth, who turned 11 this weekend! I hope you can join me Sunday from 4-6 pm eastern in the US, or catch the replay Thursday from 5-7 am. Next week we will be celebrating Pride Month by featuring musicians from the LBGTQ+ community.

Remembering Stan Rogers, this Week on Come by the Hills

Greetings! Once again, it's time for our annual Stan Rogers special on Come by the Hills, the Folk and Celtic music show. This year is especially poignant, as we've reached another milestone since his death on June 2nd, 1983, as this year marks the 40th anniversary of that sudden and sad event. So, in true Canadian folky fashion, we will be playing three hours of Stan's music with exerpts from a documentary called "One Warm Line: The Legacy of Stan Rogers." We'll also have a radio play that he worked on for the CBC as part of the show.
