Hello! I'm sorry to have to tell you that there will be no Sara Smiles show on Friday due to illness. I'm hoping this thing will be short-lived and that I'll be back in the saddle on Monday, but I will keep you posted.
Thanks for listening, and thanks for understanding!

With the re-release of the Beatles 1962-66, and 1967-70 compilations, we are about to get an extraordinary number of remixes of some of the most loved songs in popular music. There are 36 new stereo mixes in addition to the Beatles tracks that have been remixed over the last eight years, plus even more new Dolby Atmos mixes.
Not only will I play you all the new mixes, I'll go in-depth and tell you the stories behind the songs. How they were recorded, and how and why they were written.

The "Juke In The Back" focuses on the " soul that came before rock n' roll," the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
Willie Mae Thornton was a trailblazer, who in making her own rules paved the way for other groundbreaking female artists like Janis Joplin and Madonna.
This week on Deep Dive, we enjoy the talents of Australian singer John Farnham. We meet Sadie, the cleaning lady, hear the voice, and meet two strong hearts.
Tune in at 4 PM, Eastern Monday, which will now be 6 AM in Eastern Australia. Or at 6 AM, Eastern Wednesday, which will be 10 PM in Eastern Australia. These daylight savings changes can be confusing. It has been an absolutely incredible couple of weeks for Beatles fans. And I, for one, can’t stop playing “Now and Then” on repeat. But there’s more to come.
Since 2017, Beatles fans have been given numerous sonic treats as much of the band’s later work was remixed using today’s technology. Not only have there been new stereo remixes, but those with the technology to hear it have been able to feel like the band was playing in our living rooms, first with 5.1 and then with Dolby Atmos mixes.
Yes, today I have an encore presentation for you of Come by the Hills, the Folk and Celtic music show on Mushroom FM. We'll be revisiting November the 5th, 2022, as my husband and I are having friends over today. I'm sorry I can't be with you for a live show, but I hope you'll enjoy this one. And just a heads-up for next week, I'll be playing some songs in honour of Remembrance Day, so if you've got any requests, do feel free to get in touch.

The Beatles have now released the music video for "Now and Then", directed by Sir Peter Jackson.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude, love and admiration for my daughter Heidi, who has literally spent hours researching the imagery in this video so she could produce this detailed description. It is so vivid and detailed, I had to share it with you.

After you've enjoyed Come By The Hills with Sara Hillis, tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from the first half of the Rock and Roll era with nods to other decades and genres.
It's a single musical decade for the foreseeable future on The Early Years as I begin the biggest countdown I've yet done this week; the top 600 of the 1960s as tabulated by Sirius XM Radio in 2019 based on listener feedback on their "60s on 6" channel.

As you'd expect, there is an enormous amount of excitement and publicity surrounding what will be the Beatles' final song, "Now and Then". Only a handful of people in the know would have predicted that 2023 would be a year in which we heard brand new Beatles music.
Join me, Jonathan Mosen, for a two hour live listening party on Mushroom FM at 9 AM Eastern on Thursday. Check our schedule to find out where that is where you are. It will be replayed 12 hours later, but if you possibly can, since this is history being made, you'll want to hear this live.
