Movie 1: Suspiria (2018)

Suspiria (2018) is a bold and unsettling reimagining of Dario Argento’s 1977 horror classic, directed by Luca Guadagnino. Set in a divided Berlin during
the late 1970s, the film transforms the story of witchcraft and dance into a haunting meditation on guilt, power, and transformation.
The film follows Susie Bannion, a young American dancer who joins the prestigious Helena Markos Dance Company. As she rises through the ranks under the
enigmatic artistic director Madame Blanc, Susie discovers that the academy conceals dark supernatural forces tied to an ancient coven of witches. Meanwhile,
a grieving psychotherapist begins to uncover the school’s sinister secrets, leading to revelations that blur the boundaries between devotion and destruction.
Visually rich and thematically complex, Suspiria weaves together striking choreography, political tension, and occult horror. Thom Yorke’s haunting score
and Tilda Swinton’s mesmerising performances add to the film’s dreamlike unease. It’s a film of art, ritual, and rebirth—both horrifying and hypnotic.

Movie 2: Paranormal Activity (2007)

Paranormal Activity is a modern horror phenomenon written and directed by Oren Peli. Shot on a shoestring budget, it redefined the found-footage genre
and terrified audiences worldwide with its minimalism and psychological tension.
The story centres on Katie and Micah, a young couple who suspect their home is haunted by a supernatural presence. To capture evidence, Micah sets up a
camera to record their bedroom while they sleep. What begins as mild disturbances soon escalates into chilling, unexplained events that reveal something
far darker and more personal than they could have imagined.
By grounding its horror in realism and suggestion rather than spectacle, Paranormal Activity draws viewers into an atmosphere of mounting dread. Its slow burn
pacing, natural performances, and eerie use of silence turn ordinary domestic life into a site of pure terror. A landmark in 21st-century horror, it spawned
a hugely successful franchise and proved that fear thrives in the unseen.
