A message for our UK listeners regarding TuneIn support

Listeners in the UK have let us know that in the last 36 hours or so, Mushroom Fm and Mushroom Escape can't be heard using the TuneIn mobile app or through Alexa integration. We don't know but we expect it is affecting Google Assistant too.

Although the timing might suggest it, this is completely unrelated to internal changes we have been making here, and we are not the only Internet station to be affected by this problem.

Have your say ahead of this weekend's Mosen at Large. Voting blind, more on audiobooks, what will Apple reveal next week, and Envision AI

Kia ora everyone. It’s going to be a pleasure to get your thoughts for this week’s Mosen At Large. And as mentioned on last week’s show, if you make a contribution and mention that you’d like to be entered into the draw, you could win three months free membership to Libro.fm.

We’ve been getting more feedback on audiobooks, what makes a good and a bad narration, and whether you prefer audiobooks over Braille or TTS. You’re welcome to keep that conversation going.

Join us for a retirement party and a welcoming party as one chapter ends and another begins

Like many special events in Mushroom FM's history, the virtual meets reality as Mushroom FM relocates its cyber facilities to a new, purpose-built computer designed to serve us well into our second decade of entertaining you.

Join us on 09/09 as we switch off something old and switch on something brand new

When I was a kid, I was fascinated by any radio station making a change. Whether it was a move to a new studio, a change of frequency or a new format, I wanted to be there for the moment of the transition to see what it was like. I think many blind people who have grown up with a love of radio feel the same.

That’s why we’re making a bit of an occasion out of a big change at Mushroom FM.

Have your say for this week's Mosen At Large. You wouldn't read about it! Playing it by the audiobook

Kia ora everyone. As always I’m looking forward to the next time we get together for another episode of Mosen At Large.

Among other things, This week we’re going to be talking a lot about audiobooks. Understandably, many blind people love them and consume a lot of them. Will you share your audiobook wisdom with us?

On the next Mosen at Large, Larry Skutchan, what's cookin', and plenty of listener feedback

Kia ora everyone. As always I’m looking forward to the next time we get together for another episode of Mosen At Large.

First, thanks so much for the overwhelming response I’ve received to the last episode on going low carb. I am glad it has helped and inspired so many people to investigate further. We have some questions and comments coming in for the next show, and if you have anything to contribute on this subject you are most welcome.

It's here, Treasure Island Oldies will be on today

Whew! Close run thing, but we've just received this week's episode of Treasure Island Oldies so Michael will be taking to the air at the usual time today. Do tune in for four great hours.

No Treasure Island Oldies today

Unfortunately we have not received Treasure island Oldies in time to air today. We hope to do so on the Saturday replay.

Coming up this weekend on Mosen at Large, one of the most important things it's possible to talk about, your health and well-being

Hi again from Wellington, New Zealand’s cool little capital. I’m very much looking forward to being back with you for another edition of Mosen at Large, which will be thought-provoking and entertaining because of all the listener contributions.

Who knows where you may choose to take the show, but Here are some of the things we’ll be talking about based on what we’ve received so far.

This weekend on Mosen At Large, How accessible is the web really, problems and concerns with Audible.com, and it's time for heads to roll at Apple

Kia ora koutou everyone from New Zealand, where our 102 days of being COVID free in the community has come to an end.

What makes the show special is that our listeners set the direction. I have some topics for the week, but if you want to raise anything else, feel free.

This week I’ll be speaking with David Kingsbury. David works for the Carroll Centre for the Blind, and he’s a technology author. His latest book is called “When One Web Browser Is Not Enough: A Guide for Windows Screen Reader Users”. It’s a good read and it has helpful stuff in it.
