Celebrating Labour Day a Week Early, this Week on Come by the Hills!
Hello! Sara Hillis here to let you know that, while I did have a brand new episode of Come by the Hills planned for this week featuring the Folk and Traditional music of Dolly Parton as part of it, I've decided to put it off till next week so I can do it live, as I have plans which prevent me doing a live show this week. Accordingly, I am bringing you last year's Labour Day special from August 31, 2025 which I hope you will enjoy, even though North American Labour Day is not till September 7th this year. Also, to be quite honest, I just don't have the heart to do my Dolly tribute yet. I was listening to the lovely retrospective that Jonathan did for Mushroom FM last week, and it all just hit me, the loss that she represents for me, as for so many. I think Dolly's music was one of the many seeds which were planted in my soul a very long time ago and which made Folk music, when I encountered it fully for the first time as a teenager, feel like I was coming home to something safe and familiar. I think that's what Dolly's music was in the world: a safe place. So, I will sit with my feelings a little longer and put together a really great show for next week. IN the meantime, please enjoy this encore presentation!
Catch Come by the Hills on Sunday at 8:00 PM Eastern, or check out the replay on Tuesday at 5:00 AM Eastern. Enjoy, and keep your dragons safe!
