Over the last nearly 50 years, music has been rocked by some truly memorable LIVE festivals, including Live Eight, Live Aid, and that grand daddy of them all, Woodstock.
And there's yet another special festival people still talk about in hushed, nostalgic tones. The one where, for two consecutive years, Mushroom FM used the power of the Internet to have listeners virtually get together at Fungus Field for a music festival that did the impossible not once, but twice.

There are certain truths in life. Death, taxes, and no one does special events quite like Mushroom Fm.

It’s a big day for us at Mushroom FM on Monday, as from 12 AM, we become the station we hope you’ll choose when you’re in the mood for four decades of magic Mushroom memories. So what exactly does that mean, and what is the station going to sound like?
Our primary purpose will be to bring you music from the 1950s through to the 1980s. Much of the time, you’ll hear a great blend of music from all four decades, and in a cool new interactive feature on our website, you can have a say in what we play. More on that in a bit.

Hello everyone, thanks to those who have provided such warm encouragement regarding The Blind Side. We've clearly demonstrated a need for such a show and it will definitely be continuing.
As indicated on today's show and in another post on the Mushroom FM blog, The number of podcast listeners to The Blind Side has been quite remarkable. That shows us that there's a real hunger for this content, but people want to consume it on their terms. They want to be able to speed it up, skip through it, and pick and choose what they hear. A radio experience can't offer that.

Time flies when you're in the company of amazing listeners, and it's hard to believe that Mushroom FM has been back on-air for nearly a year. It's been fun bringing the Mushroom magic back.

The Blind Side is Mushroom FM's daily current affairs show from a blindness perspective.
Coming up on Monday's edition of The Blind Side, we talk about the show's future as we transition next week to a weekly podcast.
Mary Schnackenberg joins us to talk about the recent general assembly of the International Council on English Braille. We discuss the current state of the code, consider its relevance in today’s high-tech world, and we ask the question, why is it necessary to keep tampering with it.

Just like the name the Beatles, the album name Revolver has a double-meaning. It can mean the gun, or it can mean the record revolving on the turntable. When people began to play Revolver on their turntables 50 years ago this weekend, they knew rock music had really come of age. In terms of production, musical experimentation and sophistication, the Beatles had transcended all others with this remarkable album.
