We have had a fantastic response to Mushroom FM's new Alexa skill and Google action. Now we are delighted to announce that Mushroom Escape is available with a skill and action of its own.

Not only have we vastly expanded our music library from our four decades of magic Mushroom memories, not only are we rocking a new Alexa skill and Google action, but we're now giving you a chance to hear Gary G every week day. Join Gary direct from South Africa at 3 AM and again at 3 Pm Eastern for A Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That. It's a pleasant miandar through the four decades that we play with a bit of fun conversation and humour thrown in for good measure.

The Mosen Explosion was set to return on Monday with an invigorated format packed with new features. But that has been postponed by a day as we take the hour to pay tribute to meat Loaf, whose death was recently announced.

Flamboyant, larger than life, a member of a great rock partnership and singer of one of the biggest selling albums of all time, Meat Loaf was part of the soundtrack of a generation.

As the Mushroom FM programming spins up to full speed for 2022, we have several exciting improvements to report including a dramatically expanded music library from our four decades and an even easier to use accessible online player. However, the big news we’d like to cover today is the availability of our very own Alexa skill and Google Action.

My apologies, being in holiday mode meant that I made a mistake with the start time of our new year show from New Zealand for those in the UK. It actually begins at 8 AM UK time on new year's eve, not 7 as I said previously. It is still on at 3 AM Eastern, 9 PM here in NZ.

We’ve been tested, we’ve been stressed and we’ve been challenged. But 2021 is about to be done, and it’s all brand new in 2022.

In the 23 years I’ve been doing live Internet radio, new year shows have been a common feature. In fact, my very first live Internet radio show was a new year party in 1998. While I haven’t done a new year show every year, it has become something of a tradition and this will be the 13th consecutive live new year show from Mosen Towers.

At 4 PM North American Eastern Time on Christmas eve, we'll be well into Christmas day in New Zealand. it will already be 10 AM. If you'd like some company over Christmas, please feel free to join Jonathan, Bonnie, Heidi, Richard and Richard's partner Nadia as we say hi and bring you some great Christmas tunes and stories. It's all part of the all-holiday line-up the fun guys have put together for you this year on Mushroom Fm. For many of us, radio plays an important part in our lives at this time of year. For those fortunate to be surrounded by those near and ear to us, radio can provide an entertaining soundtrack to the festivities. For those on their own, radio can provide companionship and the comfort of a familiar voice.
