Another week has flown by like weeks do. Weeks must have pretty awesome wings, don’t you think? We’re getting close to you being able to hear this week’s edition of Small World, the kids’ programme for the whole family, only on Mushroom Escape.

This week, we’re taking a trip to story land with our little carrot eating friend. We have a couple of classic fairy tales for you, one of which has a big bad wolf in it, another has a wicked stepmother! Ooh!

On Mushroom Escape on Sunday starting at Midnight Eastern and repeated at 4, 8, 12, 4 and 8, I’m back with a fresh edition of Small World, the kids’ programme for the whole family. And oh my word, what a giant edition we have for you this week. We have giants that are selfish, giants that aren’t very smart, and of course if we’re going to be telling giant stories, well we have to tell the story about the giant at the top of that bean stalk!

Not all four-legged animals are our friends, but this week we’ll feature some that are. Can you guess which ones you’ll hear about?

In days of yore, Come By the Hills used to air on Sunday nights. For this reason, we didn't air the first edition of Sara Smiles at midnight going into Monday morning. Now that you can hear Come By the Hills on Saturday afternoons in its new time slot, we have the chance to make Sara's show consistent with the rest of our shows that air every week day, where you hear it first in the AM Eastern time, with a chance to catch it again on the PM.

Michael Godin is taking a well-earned break this week, so we'll have a Mushroom FM request stop in the Treasure Island Oldies slots both today and Saturday.

Ready for another two hours of fun songs and stories? Whether you’re hearing them for the first time or the 100th time, I know you’ll be transported to some interesting places this week.

Hehehehe hee haw! Woody Woodpecker is having some fun with his animal crackers, and Shirley Temple has them in her soup! Yucky!

We have a story about a giant, told by a giant of folk music.

There are a couple of stories about hats this week, one about a silk hat, and another about a boy who has 500 hats. Imagine that! 500!

I know you check the Mushroom FM Schedule page every week, just to make sure you're up to speed with all the latest tasty Mushroom morsels. Yeah, right.

The reality is that we have a pretty stable ship here, which means you can depend on hearing your favourite show when you expect to. But we do have a few changes to tell you about, some of them temporary, some of them not, relating to Sunday nights.

Are you sitting comfortably? If not, then maybe you have ants in your pants or beans in your ears. Well, whether you’re comfortable or not, sitting or otherwise, it’s time for me to remind you that Small World, the Kids’ programme for the whole family, is coming up again on Mushroom Escape. There are two fun-filled hours and I can’t wait to bring it to you.

This weekend’s show is the last that will be aired in the live format on Mushroom FM, Clubhouse, YouTube and Facebook. After this next show, Mosen At Large will be available only as a podcast and I will be vacating the Saturday Mushroom FM slot. I’ll explain the reason for the change and look to plenty more good times ahead. We have had such an amazing response to our first two shows in this new series of Small World, that it sent all the important people into an important conference! And at the important conference, the important people had an important conversation. Then they made an important decision that having a kids’ programme for the whole family was so important, and that it was important that we listen when people are crying out for more, so it was considered important that Small World now run for not one hour, but two! Holy jumping jellyfish!
