This week on Deep Dive, through a covid-times archive programme, we feature the talents of American swamp rock band Credence clearwater revival. We hear it on the grapevine, sing about a bad moon risin' and catch the midnight special.

Tune in at 4 PM Eastern Monday, which is Tuesday morning in Eastern Australia. Or at 6 AM Eastern Wednesday, which is the evening in Eastern Australia. Tuning in is easy! Simply ask that SmartSpeaker of yours to play Mushroom FM, and you will be there faster than you can walk to down on the corner.

He told us he would give us an endorsement, so we trustingly opened a microphone to him, only to find out that the so-called endorsement wasn't exactly what we anticipated. We don't know if it was actually the real King Donald, all hyped up on diet Coke, or just Steve Cutway imitating him. But, in any event it was shocking, and a blazing New York Complement. Fortunately, a federal judge is likely to over-rule him, and invalidate the whole damned thing. So all will be well that will end well.

The "Juke In The Back" focuses on the " soul that came before rock n' roll," the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
On Part 2 of "Juke In The Back"'s 2 part series on Sun Records' early R&B releases, Matt The Cat spotlights 1954 and '55. This was the most important year and a half in Sun's history.

Yes, it's an episode I've been promising. Author Jo Elizabeth Pinto joins me on The Song Remembers When today to talk about her book, Unbroken Love. Hear about the challenge she accepted which led her to write the book, discuss its themes and great characters, and, as always, listen to music which fits with the book.
The Song Remembers When airs today from 4-6 pm eastern, and again on Thursday from 5-7 am eastern. Tune in to Mushroom FM on your Amazon device, your smart phone, or on your computer by visiting

Hello! Sara Hillis here to let you know that, while I did have a brand new episode of Come by the Hills planned for this week featuring the Folk and Traditional music of Dolly Parton as part of it, I've decided to put it off till next week so I can do it live, as I have plans which prevent me doing a live show this week. Accordingly, I am bringing you last year's Labour Day special from August 31, 2025 which I hope you will enjoy, even though North American Labour Day is not till September 7th this year. Also, to be quite honest, I just don't have the heart to do my Dolly tribute yet.

We have had a wonderful response to our special two-hour Mushroom FM tribute to Dolly Parton, and a number of listeners have asked us the same question: can we make the programme available on-demand, or offer it as a download?

We would love to, but unfortunately we can’t.

Because the programme contains a large number of Dolly’s recordings, the music licensing under which Mushroom FM operates allows us to broadcast the tribute as part of our regular stream, but does not permit us to make the complete programme available for on-demand listening or download.
