Lest We Forget, this Week on Come by the Hills

Hello there. Sara Hillis here to tell you about tonight's edition of Come by the Hills, Mushroom FM's Folk and Celtic music show. Of course we'll be playing three hours of great Folk music as usual, but we will focus in on the upcoming celebration of Remembrance Day, which we observe in Canada on November 11. Others celebrate on the Sunday nearest to that date, so we'll be playing songs paying tribute to those who fought and died in previous wars, and perhaps some songs which question the need for war as well. Who knows?

Let's Play the Name Game on the Country Oasis

Names are everywhere. We all have them, (unless you change your name to a symbol), and there are so many songs with names. Maybe the name is right in the title, or maybe the name is in the lyrics of the song. Either way, I'm going to focus on those names this week, and I want your help coming up with songs. So, send me an email or tweet me at CountryOasis. Shirley you can come up with some good songs!

Deep Dive meets the first lady of song

This week on Deep Dive we enjoy the melodic and powerful voice of the first lady of song, Ella Fitzgerald. We hear about summer time, have Georgia on our minds as many of us have done for the last few days, and hear about the joys of Manhatton. Join me as it will be a great programme.

If you have an artist you love, email me Graeme@MushroomFM.com with their name, your favourite songs and your memories of them. Or better still put that information in a sound recording and join me on the show.
