Hey there! Sara Hillis here to announce the annual Come by the Hills Canada Day extravaganza! It may be coming a day late, but it will not be a loony short, especially with me as the host. We'll have three hours of Canada-themed songs, songs by Canadian artists, and even a few of the "Canada Vignettes" produced by our National Film Board (yes, the other NFB) which were a staple of my childhood TV experience. Oh, and don't worry. There will be some stan Rogers! There's always room for Stan! So come celebrate Canada Day in song and story, this week on Come by the Hills!

Over the last week, Mushroom Fm and Mushroom Escape have been migrating to a newer server to restore our Alexa skills and improve reliability even further.

Because I am still in my Covid recovery stage, and because it was Brian Wilson's eightieth birthday last week, I have reached into the vault again and pulled out a Beach Boys programme. So this week we go on surfin' safari, get about in the little duce coup, and just have fun fun fun.

To enjoy the program simply tell your smart speaker to play mushroom FM at 4 PM Monday Eastern, which is 6 AM in eastern Australia on Tuesday. Or at 6 AM Eastern Wednesday, which is 8 PM on Wednesday in eastern Australia.

The Juke In The Back” focuses on the “soul that came before rock n’ roll,” the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.

Hello! Sara Hillis here to assure you that Come by the Hills is back this week! Yes, after the celebrations of Paul McCartney's birthday last week, Folk and Celtic music is firmly back in its proper place on Mushroom FM! We've got a few long songs in honour of the longest day of the year which is just passed in the Northern Hemisphere, a few Buffy Sainte-Marie songs to honour the recently passed National Indigenous Peoples Day here in Canada, and a lot more great music besides! We've even got a few jugs of punch to wet your whistle, tin or otherwise.

At the TuneIn HQ, they have restored normal service, and when you choose Mushroom FM on TuneIn, you get it.

At Mushroom FM HQ, normal blood pressure has been restored, and we are thankful for TuneIn's rapid correction of their error.
If you enjoyed the programming that you weren't expecting, do check out Mushroom Escape for the best in drama and comedy.

This week, behind the scenes, Mushroom FM has been changing streaming servers, a little bit like the old days of changing frequencies on the radio dial. On the rare occasions we must do this, we do all we can to make this seamless for you, so you can just keep on listening.

For that to be the case, we rely on the radio directories that these days serve as the interface between the devices many people use and service providers like us.

After you've enjoyed Come By The Hills with Sara Hillis, tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 to 05:00, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac or smart speaker and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.
