The best 50s and 60s music anywhere on The Early Years

Well, I'm ready to spin some great music from the 50s and 60s on The Early Years. I have a quadruple play of four of my favourite Fats Domino songs, a 60s twin spin, a 50s flip, a couple of Halloween items, lots of chart information, memories and reminiscences about and inspired by the music.
You can contact me any time by e-mail at steve@mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows.

The Mosen Explosion takes Wings

Finally we’ve got to short sleeve weather in glorious Wellington. The days are getting warmer and longer, and everything’s feeling marvellous. And I’m looking forward to bringing you a decidedly summery Mosen Explosion. Yet another reminder that this week, due to Europe ending daylight saving time while the US is still on it, it will be on at 6 PM in the UK just for this week, still 2 PM Eastern, and 7 AM in New Zealand.

An important programming note if your clocks are going back this weekend

This is a special cautionary note to all our Mushroom Crowd in Europe, the UK, and anywhere else where clocks are falling back this weekend.

Halloween in the Shed.

Okay, so it’s not quite Halloween yet,.
However, since I only open the Shed doors on Saturday, from 11pm Eastern, that’s 4pm Sunday in New Zealand, and 3am in the UK, I say we party like it’s Halloween already!
Four hours of spooky music to get the party started, or to make you hide under the bed covers.
We will be discussing all sorts of things relating to horror, and Halloween, just whatever pops into my freaky brain.
Brains, I love brains!
Sorry, I got carried away, no need to worry about me suddenly turning into a zombie midway through the show

Halloween Music is Haunting Come by the Hills this Week!

Wel, it's that time of the year once again, the time when the veil between the worlds grows thin and spirits walk abroad among men! At least, that's what the celts believed about the time we now call Halloween. In accordance with this, I'm playing songs and tales about murder, mayhem, myth and even more this week on Come by the Hills! We won't be having our usual features, but who needs them when the music's this good? We've got Steeleye Span, Stan Rogers, Pentangle, Kate Rusby, Artisan, Loreena McKennitt, Fairport Convention and so much more that it's downright scary, I tell you!

Halloween Rhythm & Blues this week on The Juke In The Back

The Juke In The Back” focuses on the “soul that came before rock n’ roll,” the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.

It's an Early Halloween Addition of Friday Fun Today on the Sara Hillis Show!

We've got lots of great music as usual today on The Sara Hillis Show, but if you're already in the spooktacular Halloween spirit, we'll have a couple of novelty bits on today's back-to-back music mixes which should give you a wicked start to your weekend. So get ready to howel with delight and hang out with me today at 12:00 PM Eastern or on Saturday at the witching hour. That's 12:00 AM Eastern. You'll have a scarily-good time! Mwahahahahahahahahaha!

The day has finally arrived, and the Smorgasbord's got the X factor

Are you going to be by a device at 3 AM Eastern time for the big iPhone X ordering? Some will get lucky, some will be left disappointed. I’ll be right there with you, trying to nab one for launch day. Tune in and find out how I get on. Oh the tension!

So why not fire up the jolly old Smorgasbord on Mushroom FM and we’ll keep each other company. There’s other tech news going on in the world too, including a girl who’s in trouble for showing off an iPhone X belonging to her Dad who works for Apple, more Google Pixel woes, and in the iOS calculator, numbers may not add up.

On the Smorgasbord, we pay tribute to Fats Domino, and there's tech news you can use

It’s Jonathan Mosen, back on Mushroom FM for Thursday’s edition of the Smorgasbord at 3 AM and PM Easter US time, that’s 8 AM and PM in the UK.

Today, I’ll get a couple of Fats Domino tracks into the playlist, paying tribute to this musical icon who died on Wednesday.

In tech news, we learn about how Amazon wants to let itself into your house to deliver stuff. There’s a new Android developer preview, and on the eve of iPhone X pre-orders, has Apple relaxed face ID security in the interest of getting more units out? Spoiler alert, they say they haven’t, despite reports.

It's Thankful Thursday with a Listener-inspired Playlist Tomorrow on The Sara Hillis Show!

"Wow!" you're saing. "That Sara is really on the ball today with her blog entry!" The truth is that if it weren't for a listener's lovely email, I wouldn't have had nearly as much to write about for tomorrow's show. However, Elizabeth emailed me with a tale of woe. She has been longing to hear some songs by Beth Nielsen Chapman, and she can't find her anywhere on iTunes in her region. So, we're going to devote part of our Thursday on The Sara Hillis Show to this amazing singer-songwriter.
