Winter is Coming, this Week on Come by the Hills!

You might want to stay tuned after the Mushroom Fm annual holiday countdown, because after all the Christmas crackers have been pulled and all the silly toys and sillier jokes have fallen out, Come by the Hills will be paying homage to the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere with wintry themed music. We'll have all our usual features with a snowy twist, and you'll certainly want to get out the hot cocoa (or perhaps something stronger) for this one!

Hey! Santa Claus: R&B Christmas, part 1 this week on The Juke In The Back!

The Juke In The Back” focuses on the “soul that came before rock n’ roll,” the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.

Voting will soon close in our holiday countdown

For the last two weeks, you've been helping us to make a list. So far, listeners have voted for over 300 songs in our holiday countdown. If you've not voted yet, you only have until midnight US Eastern time to cast your vote.

While our lips are sealed about the current tally, we will say that the top of the chart is very, very, very close. Your vote could be the clincher. And you know what they say, if you don't vote, you have no right to complain.

More Great Celtic Music, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Yes, it's that time of the week already, and again, the show will be broadcast live! In fact, unless circumstances prevent it, Come by the Hills will become a live and interactive show here on Mushroom Fm from now on! We'll be fulfilling a couple of requests this time around, celebrating the birthday of a great poet in "me music," and generally playing some amazing music from some amazing artists.

It's a musical mixed bag tonight on The Early Years!

Join me for The Early Years where you'll enjoy the best variety of music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades including music from before the rock era.
It's a musical mixed bag tonight: some leftover songs recorded by related people, together or separately, and lots of Christmas music including songs that Nancy and I voted for on the Mushroom FM 2018 Christmas Countdown. (Have you voted yet?)

This week on The Mosen Explosion, baby, it's controversial outside

Next week, the regular Mosen Explosion won’t be airing, as we make way for our annual, traditional Christmas party and countdown. Oh boy! Excitement abounds! Have you voted yet? I’m making a list and checking it twice, and if you’re not on the list of people who’ve voted, that’s definitely naughty, not nice. http://MushroomFm.com/countdown2018 is how you get on the nice list.

More music by artists related to each other by blood or marriage tonight on The Early Years!

Join me for The Early Years where you'll enjoy the best variety of music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades including music from before the rock era.
It's the fourth and final part of my look at songs recorded by related people, together or separately. Some are related by blood, others by marriage. Music will span 22 years from 1957-79.
