The Juke In The Back” focuses on the “soul that came before rock n’ roll,” the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
This week, the “Juke In The Back” spotlights the “Prince of Primitive Cool,” Rosco Gordon. His mostly self-penned tunes, feature his unique blend of mid-tempo shuffle with a slightly behind-the-beat rolling barrelhouse piano line. He was a master at making his recordings sound rough, but there was also a lot of blues sophistication buried under the simplicity.
Yes, Sunday is the day for Celtic Music here on Mushroom FM. I'm coming at you with another three thrilling hours of Celtic and Folk sounds on Come by the Hills, touted (by me if by no one else) as Mushroom FM's premier Celtic music show! For a change, we're going to ditch our usual features and just have a great time with some great music.

After you've been amused, entertained and informed by The Mosen Explosion, don't touch that dial and join me for The Early Years where you'll enjoy the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.

We are back yet again for another fun four hours of music and conversation on The Mosen Explosion.
This week, we’re going to talk about superstitions. There is a remarkable number of these, things that apparently bring you bad luck if you do them. I’ll tell you the story that got me thinking about this topic, and I look forward to hearing things that you don’t do because they bring you bad luck, or superstitions you’ve learned about from others.

Well, the excitement of the 3-day Novel Contest being over, I have no further excuse to recycle our episodes, unless of course I want to boost Mushroom FM's reputation for environmental ethics, which, I hasten to add, needs no boosting whatsoever. This is all just a very convoluted way of saying that I've got a new Come by the Hills episode for you on Sunday at 8:00 PM Eastern. All our features are firmly in place, including a Celtic Cover I've been thinking about for some time now and a cracking set for Fiddlin' Around by Patrick Street!
