It was scarcely three months ago that we were showcasing The Road Back Home, a live album recorded by Loreena McKennitt at a couple of Ontario Folk festivals in the summer of 2023. Now, in honour of the thirtieth anniversary of her 1994 album called The Mask and Mirror and just ahead of the launch of Loreena's Mask and Mirror thirtieth Anniversary tour, she has released a live version of the original album, plus two extra live tracks. These were recorded at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco in 1994 and were meant to be syndicated as a radio program in the US and Canada.

After you've enjoyed Decades in HD with PJ Noce tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from the first quarter century of Rock with occasional nods to other decades and genres.
The top 600 songs of the 60s from Sirius XM Radio's 60s on 6 Channel in 2019 continues this week, picking up the countdown at #74 and continuing to #49. I should reach #1 in two weeks.

Memphis Slim dubbed himself the "Ambassador Of The Blues" and for good reason. He spread the gospel of America's music around the world during his almost 50 year career. This week, Matt The Cat and the "Juke In The Back" take a look at Slim's prodigious contribution to the genre.
This week on Deep Dive we enjoy the talents of singer, song writer and record producer Neil Sedaka. We learn that it hurts to be in love, hear about the diary, and discover that breaking up is hard to do.

Sunday is June 2nd, and will be the forty-first anniversary of the extremely untimely death of Canadian folk-singer and songwriter Stan Rogers, who died after an airplane accident in 1983. I'll be playing all the favourites that I can think of, and will gladly play any of yours as well. I'll also be presenting a radio play that was based on one of Stan's songs. Alongside the music, I'll be playing various clips of Stan and others speaking about his songs and his career. It promises to be a really great time! It's certainly one of the highlights of my year.
