After you've enjoyed Decades in HD with PJ Noce tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from the first quarter century of Rock with occasional nods to other decades and genres.
I'll pick up the theme I started near the end of last week's show, songs that didn't make the top 100 of 1964, and I'll pay tribute to an artist who's celebrating her 35th birthday today with one Christmas song she recorded December 1, 2019.

The "Juke In The Back" focuses on the " soul that came before rock n' roll," the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
There were so many important figures in post WWII Rhythm & Blues that helped build what would become Rock n' Roll. Today's popular culture has left so many musical pioneers behind and this week the "Juke In The Back" features Joe Liggins, one such pioneer who's been largely forgotten.
It's often at this time of the year when we get reflective and start asking the really big, important questions of life. Why are we here? What's life all about? Is God really real, or is there some doubt? And of course, why the heck should I take some of my valuable time to cast my vote in the Mushroom FM holiday Countdown? Well, if you want to know the answers to the first few questions, I suggest watching Monty Python's The Meaning of Life. (ON second thought, maybe don't do that.) As for the question about the countdown, agonize no more! I've got your answers right here!
This week on Deep Dive we enjoy the excellent talent of Australian blues, jazz and soul singer Renee Geyer. We are heading in the right direction, dedicate to the one I love, and experience stares and whispers.
Tune in at 4 PM Eastern Monday, which is 8 AM Tuesday in Eastern Australia. Or at 6 AM Eastern Wednesday which is 10 PM in eastern Australia. Just tell that good ol' SmartSpeaker of yours to go on and play Mushroom FM and you will be there in a cotton-pickin' minute.

“Hey, it’s Gary G! Join me later today for the All ‘80s Show, right here on Mushroom FM! Tune in at 2 p.m. U.S. Eastern for a blast from the past with the hits you know and love from the ‘80s. I’ll be sharing some cool facts about the songs and artists, so don’t miss out! And if you can’t make it, catch the replay at 11 p.m. U.S. Eastern. See you there!”
Hello! Sara Hillis here to let you know about this week's episode of Come by the Hills, the Folk and Celtic music show on Mushroom FM! I've decided, in honour of the season, to play a few holiday selections live on air. I had a request a month or so ago to play my harp on the show, so I've decided to fulfill that request. I haven't done anything like this since 2020 when everyone was doing virtual concerts, so I hope you'll join me. I will of course have recorded music on the show as well.

The top 100 of 1964 concludes this week. I'll pick up the countdown at #20 and continue to #1. What will it be? It may not surprise you.
First, we'd like to thank those who have already voted in this year's Mushroom FM Holiday Countdown! You're amazing! However, it seems that our vote-validating elves are suffering from a lack of structure and productivity at work. They are taking entirely too many cocoa and candy cane breaks, and may be in danger of quiet quitting, (not to mention getting into the mulled wine and mince pies,) if we're not careful. The good news is that you can help them to fulfill their potential and live their dream. How?
