Folkish Fun Once Again, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hi there! Sara Hillis here to tell you what's coming up for you in just over twelve hours as I'm posting this. It's another episode of come by the Hills! I hope to bring it to you live, but it depends on the rather stormy weather today. It may make more sense to do a voice-tracked show for you this week, but hey. Maybe I'll get some of The Snow Man's nerve and just broadcast live in spite of the thunder! Anyway, regardless of how it's coming to you, I promise you a new show today, filled with great Folk music with a Celtic sound!

It's an Encore Presentation of our Tribute to John Mann and Spirit of the West, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hello again! Sara Hillis here to let you know that Come by the Hills won't be live on Sunday night, but will instead be revisiting our Spirit of the West special, originally aired on November 24, 2019, in which we honoured this great Canadian band and their lead singer John Mann, who died on November 20, 2019, due to early-onset Alzheimer's Disease. He wrote provocative songs and was not afraid to have an opinion, and oh yes, his music was often tinged with that lovely Celtic sound.

Find Your Folkish Fix, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hello! Sara Hillis here once again to tell you that come by the Hills is back for another three hours of amazing Folk and Celtic music this week. Now, some of you may be asking: "Where did she get the name 'come by the Hills anyway?' Is it a play on her name perhaps?" Well, no. It has nothing to do with my name at all, but it is the title of a song which may be about Ireland or about Scotland. There is some controversy here, and I take no side--well, not really.

Celtic and Folk Favourites, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Sara Hillis here to let you know that Folk and Celtic music takes over the Mushroom airwaves (or bits and bytes or something) for three hours at 8:00 PM Eastern this very day! Yes, three hours of great Folk and Celtic music, and then there's me. Best of all, it's live! Live, I tell you!

it's Canada Day--Almost, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Yes, Sara Hillis here once again to let you know that since Wednesday, July 1 is Canada Day here in, well, Canada, I'm going to be live tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern with three hours of Canadian Folk and Celtic music for your enjoyment, and perhaps for your edification. You're welcome to request something if you like, or you you can just sit back and celebrate whatever the heck it really is to be Canadian. We've got songs about history, songs about places, and songs that celebrate the fact that, as The Arrogant Worms say, Canada's really big!

Lots to Celebrate, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hi there. Sara Hillis here to tell you about this week's edition of Come by the Hills, Mushroom FM's premier Folk and Celtic music show. There's lots to celebrate as we go to air, including the fact that Sunday, June 21, is National Indigenous People's Day here in Canada. To mark this, we'll be featuring the life and work of Buffy Sainte-Marie throughout the show. We'll be sure and play a few Quebecois tunes as well in honour of St. Jean-Baptiste Day which is coming up on Tuesday.

It's Alive--Again! This Week on Come by the Hills!

Sara Hillis just popping in to tell you that this week's Folk and Celtic music show, affectionately known as Come by the Hills, will be live once again, starting Sunday at 8:00 PM Eastern! We've got a wide range of Folkish things to play tomorrow, so join me on the journey, won't you?

Catch Come by the Hills at 8:00 PM Eastern on Sunday, or check out the replay on Friday at 4:00 AM Eastern, 9:00 AM in the UK and Ireland. There's also an archive of past shows from 2020 here. However and whenever you listen, I hope you'll enjoy it!

Revisiting a Virtual House Concert, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Sara Hillis here to let you know that it's almost time once again for Come by the Hills, the Folk and Celtic music show here on Mushroom FM! This time, we'll be revisiting a virtual house concert that I did on March 22 of this year. I'm going to be busy celebrating a lovely milestone, five wonderful years with my wonderful husband Michael. So, while I'm doing that, you can listen to this show which included live music from me as well as a few great Folk and Celtic tunes from the collection.
