Music to Cure What Ails You, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Sunday is here again in much of the world, and that means that it's time for more Celtic and folk music of an excellent kind on that most excellent station, Mushroom FM! I'm back this week and I'm live, though I came within a hair of deciding to do another encore presentation.

Celebrating Robby Burns, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Yes, it's that time of year again, and though we're a day late on Mushroom FM's premier Celtic music show, I hope we will not be a dollar short. It's Burns weekend of course! And why not celebrate with an encore of last year's Burns special? Life has largely overtaken me this week, but I didn't want to leave you Burns-less. So, enjoy 2019's trip through his music and poetry in the meantime, and I hope to be back live with you next week.

Catch Come by the Hills on Sunday at 8:00 PM Eastern, or on Friday at 4:00 AM Eastern, 9:00 AM in the UK and Ireland!

Revisiting the Super Blood Wolf Moon, this Week on Come by the Hills!

I thought I'd dip into the show archives for another encore presentation this week. Last year at about this time in January, there was a very unique full moon event which we saluted in fine style on Mushroom FM's premier Celtic music show! It was called the Super Blood Wolf Moon, and if you want to know what all those words mean, you'll have to tune in tomorrow at 8:00 PM Eastern, or catch the replay on Friday at 4:00 AM Eastern! There'll be songs about the moon and of course lots of moon-related banter.

New Year, new Music, this Week on Come by the Hills!

I may be late, but I'm not never--or, uh--no wait! The point is that it's almost time for another new (and live) episode of Come by the Hills! Join me on Sunday at 8:00 PM Eastern for the best in Folk and Celtic music from around the world! This week we'll have music from the Newfoundland band The Dardanelles, Irish duo Ye Vagabonds and Scottish folk favourites The Corries, along with selections from our usual eclectic collection!

Revisiting Sandy Denny, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Among other lovely holiday gifts, I was also given an unlovely one--that is, a cold. While it is on the wane, my voice is still not quite ready for the demands of a three-hour live broadcast in the later part of the evening. So, while I continue to fight these symptoms, I thought we'd look back at our Sandy Denny show. it is appropriate for this week, as her birthday is on January 6. IN fact, I produced the show in June due to a mistaken reading of that date. So, here's my chance to rectify the mistake.

It's a Christmas Encore, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Yes, it's still the holiday season, so I thought I'd give you the gift of one more chance to listen to the Christmas edition of Mushroom FM's premier Celtic music show! We've got songs, stories, and of course a whole lot of fun. So, tune in tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern, or catch the replay on Friday at 4:00 AM Eastern. The archive will also be properly updated in a couple of days, and you can find it at: http://www.mushroomfm.com/sarahillis. Merry Christmas again, and I wish you all the best as we approach 2020!

Presenting Christmas with the Carpenters!

Sara Smiles is taking a break for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but I'm going nowhere! Whether you're doing some last-minute shopping, baking, rapping or other holiday chore, why not spend a little time with me and the Carpenters on Mushroom FM? On Christmas Eve at 12:00 PM Eastern, I'll be presenting two hours of Carpenters Christmas music, live, and mostly commercial-free! We'll journey through the music as far as we can go, and I'll share some of my own memories of the music, and I hope some of yours as well.

It's Christmas Celtic Style, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Christmas is coming to Mushroom FM, and Come by the Hills is no exception. Join me after the big countdown and Christmas party for a Celtic and Folky festival of Yuletide spirit! We've got carols, songs and even Dylan Thomas! How can you go wrong?

We won't be live this week, but we're bringing the cheer to you as we do every year at about this time. That's Sunday night at 8:00 PM Eastern, replayed on Friday at 4:00 AM. The archive is also available at http://www.mushroomfm.com/sarahillis. Enjoy and merry Christmas!

New Music from Judy Collins, Canadian Band The Dardanelles and Festive Fun with a Wintry Theme, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Yes, we're back live this week with another edition of Come by the Hills. Join me tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern for new music from Judy Collins--yes, you heard it right!--, music from Newfoundland Folk band The Dardanelles by listener request, and more festive favourites with a wintry theme as we are approaching the official beginning of Northern Hemisphere Winter. We'll also have Tolkien-themed music from me featuring the Celtic harp, and of course we'll have a great time as always.

Folky Fabulousness is Back Again, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Yes, once again this sunday, Mushroom FM's Four Decades format will be invaded by those crazy folk-fiends as I bring you three hours of great Celtic and Folk music on Come by the Hills! We'll have some new music from me, some more of our festive repertoire, and of course the general merriment that goes along with the best virtual kitchen party on the planet, or well, at least on Mushroom FM. The show won't be live this week as I'm otherwise engaged that night, but it will be new and it will be fun.
