It's Saint David's Eve, this Week on Come by the Hills!
Shw Mae! (Hi!) Sara Hillis yma (here) to tell you that we're going Welsh this week on Come by the Hills in honour of Saint David's Day, which I'm sure has been celebrated at least in some fashion this weekend in Wales, and which actually falls on March 1. I think it's a holiday and everything! We're going to be playing music mostly in the Welsh Language (yn Cymraeg,) but we will not be confining ourselves strictly to Folk music. We have a little bit of music by Harry Secombe, formerly of The goons, as well as some lovely music by Aled Jones, celebrated Welsh Soprano and then later Tenor. I've got a couple of his songs from when he had that lovely boy's voice, and no, I don't think they're Christmas songs either.
I hope you'll join me as we celebrate this annual tradition here on the show! Catch Come by the Hills live at 8:00 PM Eastern, (that's in just a few hours,) or check out the replay on Friday at 4:00 AM Eastern, 9:00 AM in England, Scotland, Ireland and yn Gymru! (That's Wales.) There's also an archive of past shows available here. However and whenever you listen, enjoy!
