Folkish Fun and Frolic, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hello! Sara Hillis here to tell you that once again this week, I've got three hours of Folkish fabulousness for you on Come by the Hills! In just under twelve hours, I'll be live with you once again on the Mighty Mushroom with a mix of great folk and Celtic favourites for your enjoyment! Whether you're winding down on a Sunday or working hard on a Monday, or whenever you're listening, we've got you covered!

Spring Comes to Come by the Hills!

Greetings!

Sara Hillis here to tell you about the upcoming episode of Mushroom FM's Folk and Celtic music show, Come by the Hills! The robins began to sing outside my window today, so that means that spring is here. Even if winter returns for a while, I know I heard the robin, so therefore, it's spring! Accordingly, we will be having songs about spring during the show, as well as plenty of other music for your enjoyment.

Celebrating Saint Patrick's Day, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Faith and bigora! It's that time o' year again when we put on our green togs and lift a glass to the man (a Welshman incidentally) who drove the snakes out of Ireland! It's three hours of Irish-themed music, and it all starts on Sunday at 8:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time. Yes, it's that time o' year again too! We're springing forward here in North America, so the times they are a-changing. Keep on top of all the upcoming time-changes at our schedule page.

This Week's Come by the Hills Archive Now Available!

Hello again, Sara Hillis just popping round again to say that the show did indeed go on despite the server problems, and there is an archive of all three hours of it that can be found here. Thanks to all who hung in there and reassured me that they were indeed listening when we came back on the air! It was certainly an interesting night!

Three Hours of Thunderously Fantastic Music, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Yes, Sara Hillis here once again to give you a wee taste of what's coming up on this week's episode of Mushroom FM's premier Folk and Celtic music show! First, we will be broadcasting from the shiny new server, which at this time last week was barely a gleam in the management's eye! (Well, it might have been at least a glimmer.) Also, we'll be playing a few songs in our first hour by a listener-recommended group from England called The Young'uns. We'll hear a sea shanty from tom Lewis, a song about maple syrup (at least tangentially,) and we'll fulfill some requests.

It's Saint David's Eve, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Shw Mae! (Hi!) Sara Hillis yma (here) to tell you that we're going Welsh this week on Come by the Hills in honour of Saint David's Day, which I'm sure has been celebrated at least in some fashion this weekend in Wales, and which actually falls on March 1. I think it's a holiday and everything! We're going to be playing music mostly in the Welsh Language (yn Cymraeg,) but we will not be confining ourselves strictly to Folk music. We have a little bit of music by Harry Secombe, formerly of The goons, as well as some lovely music by Aled Jones, celebrated Welsh Soprano and then later Tenor.

Loreena McKennitt, Live Music, and Live Me, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hello again! Sara Hillis here to tell you that this week's episode of Come by the Hills, the Folk and Celtic Music Show, is brought to you by the letters L and M, and the number 3. Why the number 3? Because we've got three hours of great Folk and Celtic music for your listening pleasure! As for L and M, we're featuring the music of Canadian singer/songwriter Loreena McKennitt, as it was her birthday on February 17. We're also going to feature live music from Loreena McKennitt and other artists, because I think many of us are craving the concert atmosphere about now.

February Folkish Fun, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hello again! Sara Hillis here to tell you about this week's episode of Come by the Hills, Mushroom FM's Folk and Celtic music show. We've got three hours of fantastic Folk for you, and though it will not be live this week due to the fact that it's February 14 and I'm going to be spnding some quality time with my husband this evening, it will be full of fun as always.

We'll salute Saint Brigid of Kildare as it's her feast-day on the Julian calendar, we'll fulfill a request we didn't get to last week, and of course we'll hear lots of amazing music as usual.

Forget the Football! Go for Folk, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hello again! Sara Hillis here to tell you that, contrary to what *they* would have you believe, The Super Bowl is not the most important thing happening tonight. No, Come by the Hills is! I mean, it's so important that there's not even a half-time show to take away from its utter and complete fantasticity! So if you like great Folk and Celtic music from around the world, then join me live tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern, or catch the replay on Friday at 4:00 AM Eastern, 9:00 AM in the UK and Ireland.

It's Burns Eve, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hello again! Sara Hillis here to tell you that we're getting decidedly Scottish this week on Come by the Hills in honour of Robert Burns Day coming up on January 25. We'll hear many of the songs Burns collected and some of the poetry he wrote as well, and we'll have a great time as always. So join me live on Sunday at 8:00 PM Eastern for all the fun, or catch the replay of the show on Friday at 4:00 AM Eastern, 9:00 AM in the UK and Ireland. There's also an archive of past shows available for your perusal here.
