Who’d have thunk it! Who’d have thunk that when I started dabbling in this Internet radio thing at the end of 1998, we’d still be here in 2018, with people being able to listen just as easily on portable devices as they can to terrestrial radio. My my, hey hey. And it’s time once again for the first Mosen Explosion of 2018.

There's nothing like keeping up the traditions at this time of year. Join Jonathan, Bonnie, the bananas, the nearly banana-in-law and others, as we explode into 2018. New Zealand gets to the new year a full 18 hours before Eastern US time, a massive 21 hours before US Pacific time, and a still impressive 13 hours before the UK and Ireland. So, no matter what the time, why not do what so many people do at this time each year. Set an alarm if needed, crank up your best speakers and join us for one of the first broadcasts ever to be made in 2018 anywhere.

At 2 PM Eastern time, 7 PM UK Time on Christmas day, Christmas is over in New Zealand. But I’m able to prolong the magic a little longer by spending four hours with you.

At 5 AM Eastern time on Tuesday, and once again in the usual Mosen Explosion slot of 2 PM Eastern on Christmas Eve, I’ll be continuing the tradition I started last year of playing songs that people voted for, but which didn’t make the top 100 countdown. Altogether, the mushroom crowd voted for 269 songs, so there is plenty to fill a four-hour show and then some.
We’ll have a mix of genres including country, traditional, and of course novelty.
I hope you’ll join me for one of the playings of Christmas Castoffs, only on your famous festive fungal station, Mushroom Fm.

On 17 December 2017, we broadcast our holiday countdown and Christmas party. It was the culmination of a two-week voting process, in which voters nominated over 200 of their favourite holiday songs.
On that Sunday, we all got together to hear the top 100, and to share some holiday cheer via email and Twitter. Thanks to everyone's participation, it was an unforgettable day, a party in true Mushroom FM tradition.

How cool that it’s that time of year again! We’re excited! Mushroom FM's 2017 holiday countdown and Christmas party is tomorrow! Starting at 9 AM US Eastern time, 2 PM UK, we'll be counting down the top 100 holiday songs as chosen by you
While we all enjoy the festive tunes, our virtual online Christmas party puts those who have voted in the countdown at Christmas tables, named after the first four reindeer in 'Twas the night before Christmas.

Time is now extremely limited for you to cast your vote in Mushroom FM’s holiday countdown. Without giving anything away, I can tell you that the top of this year’s chart is really close, and your vote will make a difference.

The holidays are all about traditions and rituals. Turkey, mistletoe, Santa, and enjoying Mushroom FM's famous holiday Countdown and Christmas Party. Yes, Hark! Hark and be merry! It's back.
After you have your all-important say, our elves will be making a list, checking it twice, and presenting a 10-hour extravaganza of the top 100 holiday songs as determined by our listeners.

We have an utterly packed, news-filled, music-laden Mosen Explosion for you this week and I can’t wait.
Most important, I’ll be unlocking the accessible virtual voting booth for Mushroom FM’s much-loved top 100 holiday countdown. I’ll explain how you can have your say. Will you be the first person to cast a vote in this year’s event. If you’re on the ball, and tuned in, it just might be you.
