This week, most of us have been there. We’re going about our business, when someone arbitrarily decides that because we can’t see, we need help, and that assumption is made without asking first. Sometimes it can be quite a scary and violating experience, when unwanted hands are laid on us and we’re propelled in a direction we never intended to go. Yet there are times when we do need help, and we know others may be less independent than we are.

On 1 June 1967, the most significant album in the history of popular music was released. In recent weeks, thousands of column inches worldwide have been devoted to this album and how it changed the face of popular music. But nothing beats hearing it, especially in its new, glorious, remixed stereophonic form.

Hello, I'm Steve Cutway. Variety is the watch-word for tonight's show as I'll present the best music from the 50s and 60s, not from just the rock era that is generally accepted to have started in 1955, but also from 1951 until then. I have twin spins and version comparisons to keep you entertained.

Alright, so here's what happened. I was sitting around all week procrastinating and wondering what I wanted to do for this week's episode of Come by the Hills, and then, like a firework streaking across the sky, it came to me. Since this is along weekend in Canada, why not do another "long songs" episode? (For my purposes, "long" means a duration of over 5 minutes.) So, that's what we're going to do.

Think of me struggling out of bed at 4:30 AM! 4:30 AM I tell you, to be ready to present another Mosen Explosion at 6 AM my time on a very cold morning. Sympathy? Na, I don’t deserve any of that, because it’s the highlight of my week catching up with listeners old and new, getting tweets, emails, voice messages and phone calls, as well as playing some of the greatest music ever made. I mean who could seriously ask for more than that on a Monday.

Later on tonight, from 11pm Eastern, that’s 3pm Sunday in New Zealand, and 4am in the UK, it’ll be time to crank up the Kiwi music yet again.
