Nancy's theme part 2 this week on The Early Years!

And affter you've enjoyed The Mosen Explosion tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 to 05:00 PM, don't touch that dial and join me in The Early Years where you'll enjoy the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.
Five decades are represented musically this week as I continue the theme that I called "Nancy's Theme" last week because my wife of 49 years, Nancy, suggested it and did a good deal of the research. If you were with me last week, you know what it is, songs about days of the week.

R.I.P. Little Richard, Part 2: 1955-57 this week on The Juke In The Back!

The Juke In The Back” focuses on the “soul that came before rock n’ roll,” the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.

On May 9, 2020, we lost another one of Rock n’ Roll’s true founders: Little Richard. He stands alone in his uniqueness and his influence to all that would follow him.
Matt The Cat presents part one of a two-part tribute to the “Architect of Rock n’ Roll.”

It's mostly music from the 60s this week as I begin a new theme that I'm calling "Nancy's Theme" because my wife of now 49 years, Nancy, suggested it. What is it? Well, you'll just have to tune in and find out.

tributes and memories again this week on The Early Years!

It's all about tributes and memories again this week. I'll pay tribute to Little Richard and Betty Wright who died this week at the ages of 87 and 66 respectively. After that, I'll play some memorable and possibly not so memorable covers of some Little Richard songs.

The “Juke In The Back” features another highly underrated R&B vocal group from the 1950s: The Checkers.  They never scored a national hit, but they’re one of the finest examples of polished 1950s R&B and their story deserves to be shared.
