After you've enjoyed The Mosen Explosion tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 to 05:00 PM, stay tuned and join me in The Early Years where you'll enjoy the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.
It's all about tributes, memories and celebrations this week. I'll pay tribute to Little Millie small who died on Tuesday at the age of 72 as the result of a stroke.
A significant musical event took place in North America on May 9, 1970 and I'll tell you all about it.

The Juke In The Back” focuses on the “soul that came before rock n’ roll,” the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
The “Juke In The Back” features another highly underrated R&B vocal group from the 1950s: The Checkers. They never scored a national hit, but they’re one of the finest examples of polished 1950s R&B and their story deserves to be shared.

I will remember a sad event that happened 50 years ago this weekend, pay tribute to two musicians we've lost recently and finish my listener-suggested "songs about music" theme begun March 28.

The Early Years, heard originally at 05:00 PM Saturday afternoon, after The Mosen Explosion, normally replays Wednesday morning at 07:00 AM. Last weekend was Mushroom FM's 10th birthday and I celebrated it on The Early Years. But the main event, Mushroomstock 2020, took place Sunday from 08:00 AM to 08:00 PM thus pre-empting The Lost Lennon Tapes and Juke In The Back, meaning that listeners in the North American Eastern Time Zone and points west (except perhaps Hawaii) wouldn't hear them, unless their night owls. So they're running in the Early Years replay time slot this week only.

After you've enjoyed "Mushroom FM turns 10, a celebration" tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 to 05:00 PM, the fun and festivities that are part of our 10th anniversary weekend continue on The Early Years where you'll enjoy the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.
You'll hear songs about parties and celebrations primarily from the 50s and 60s with a few from the 70s and one from the 80s.

As you've heard me say many times, it's all about the music on Mushroom FM the home of the fun guys. But I'm continuing to delve a little deeper with more music about music, a listener-suggested theme.
