Horace McNickle is a two-time felon serving prison time for counterfeiting.
On the week before Christmas, he escapes from prison dressed as Santa Claus due to his uncanny resemblance to Santa resulting from his long white beard and heavyset features.
He hides out from the police in a nearby suburban neighbourhood where he is befriended and helped by two local children who think he is the real Santa.
Walt Disney Home Entertainment released the film on DVD on 7 September 2004.

With the holiday fast approaching, Ginny and Jack's daughter, Abbie (Elizabeth Harnois), goes to deliver her letter to Santa.
On her way, Abbie meets Gideon, an angel intent on saving Christmas from Ginny's poor attitude.
With Gideon's magical assistance, Ginny learns how things could be much worse.

Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol is a 1962 animated musical holiday television special produced by UPA.
It is an adaptation of Charles Dickens' 1843 novella A Christmas Carol, and it features UPA's character Mr. Magoo as Ebenezer Scrooge.
The special first aired on 18 December 1962, on NBC and was the first animated Christmas special to be produced specifically for television.
Jim Backus provides the voice of Magoo, with additional voices provided by Paul Frees, Morey Amsterdam, Joan Gardner, and Jack Cassidy.
The special is directed by Abe Levitow and features songs composed by Jule Styne, with lyrics by Bob Merrill, while Walter Scharf arranged and conducted the orchestral score.
