Enjoy the best of the theatre of the mind with our new Mushroom Escape Alexa skill and Google action

We have had a fantastic response to Mushroom FM's new Alexa skill and Google action. Now we are delighted to announce that Mushroom Escape is available with a skill and action of its own.

We believe these innovations will be particularly welcomed by our UK listeners where TuneIn is no longer allowed to play streams outside the UK. This has meant that people who want to tune in via Alexa or Google Home have had to go through some linguistic contortions to get it done. At this stage, the skill and action are both simple and will start playing the stream right away. Note though that Google actions can take a while to start streaming. This is a characteristic of Google actions beyond our control.

Google Action

If you have a device that is powered by the Google Assistant, you can say something like, “Hey Google, ask Mushroom Escape to Play.”

Alexa Skill

You should first enable the Alexa skill by saying, "Alexa, enable Mushroom Escape". Our experience with the Mushroom FM skill has taught us that some Alexa stores are more finicky than others. So if "enable Mushroom Escape" doesn't do the trick, you might try, "Alexa, enable Mushroom Escape skill".

Once enabled, you can use our Alexa skill by saying, “Alexa, Open Mushroom Escape”. The station will start to play.
