I have a dream that one day there’ll be new ABBA music, and the dream is nearly a reality.

Mama mia! Can you wait hasta Mañana? Knowing me, knowing you the way old friends do, when all is said and done, you may be just a little bit excited about the fact that we’re finally on the verge of getting new ABBA music. Does your mother know that it’s the first new ABBA music in almost 40 years?

In 2018, ABBA rocked me, and indeed rocked the world and shocked the world by announcing that they had been back into the studio to record a couple of songs, one of which we know is called “I still have faith in you”. Since then, we know of the existence of at least five new tracks and that they have been working on an ambitious new virtual tour project. It’s been a long wait since then, and quite the marry-go-round. The wait has gone on and on and on with many of us saying, just gimme, gimme, gimme the new songs already!!

At 12:45 PM Eastern time, 5:45 PM in the UK on 2 September, ABBA will be going live with an announcement about a project called ABBA Voyage. When all is said and done, we don’t know exactly what’s the name of the game, so we’ll just have to take a chance. It’s unclear at this stage if we will get more than an announcement, whether we might get some new ABBA music as part of it, but we want to cover an event that’s big news for listeners who like the kind of music played on Mushroom FM. ABBA are one of our most popular groups, for good reason.

So join Sara and Jonathan, one man, one woman, two for the price of one, live on Mushroom FM starting at noon Eastern, 5 PM UK, as we go live with a special ABBA show. We’ll play your ABBA requests as we let the music speak, it’ll sound as good as new. Then we’ll bring you the announcement live. If there is new music to be heard, you can be sure you’ll hear that too and we’ll get your reaction. Has it lived up to ABBA’s reputation?
