Christmas is all about tradition
After the presents have been opened, the turkey has been eaten (some of it at least), and it's Christmas night when you can hopefully enjoy a bit of well deserved down time. Why not pour a glass of your favourite Christmas cheer and join me for some Christmas traditions, tonight from 09:00 until midnight North American Eastern Time on Mushroom FM.
Hi, I'm Steve Cutway. I'll have some favourite holiday stories written and/or performed by Canadian storytellers linked by holiday music performed primarily by Canadians.
You'll hear the reply to a little girl's question about the existence of Santa claus; how "Dave Cooks The Turkey"; "The Gift Of The Magi" (one of my favourite Christmas stories); a Christmas party with a twist; "Hoodoo McFiggan's Christmas" by Stephen Leacock; the challenges trying to retrieve Christmas cards after they've been posted; an excerpt from "The Cricket On The Harth" by Charles Dickens; and the story that has now been a Canadian radio tradition for 42 years, "The Shepherd" by Frederick Forsyth.
This show first ran on Christmas Eve 2019 and received a lot of unexpected positive feedback. If you heard the show last year, I hope you enjoy it again. If you didn't, I hope you enjoy it for the first time.
So relax with me, Steve cutway, and Christmas Traditions, tonight from 09:00 until midnight on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys.
In North America, we say, "Merry Christmas". In much of the world, they say, "Happy Christmas". I wish you both. And thanks for being a part of the Mushroom FM family.
