Movie 1: Anne of Green Gables (1985)
Anne of Green Gables is the beloved 1985 Canadian television film adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic novel. Set in the picturesque town of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island, the story follows Anne Shirley (played by Megan Follows), an imaginative, spirited orphan mistakenly sent to live with Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert—an elderly brother and sister who had intended to adopt a boy to help on their farm.
Anne’s vivid imagination, dramatic flair, and tendency to get into mischief quickly upend life at Green Gables, but over time, she charms the Cuthberts and the entire community.
The film beautifully captures Anne’s journey of self-discovery, friendship, and belonging, all set against breathtaking Canadian scenery.
Directed with heart by Kevin Sullivan, the film is widely praised for its faithful adaptation, rich character development, and standout performances, especially by Megan Follows and Colleen Dewhurst as Marilla.
It remains a cherished classic for generations of viewers.

Movie 2: It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (1974)
It’s the Easter Beagle; Charlie Brown is a charming, animated television special based on Charles M. Schulz’s beloved Peanuts comic strip.
First broadcast in 1974, it brings together all your favourite characters as they prepare (in their own quirky ways) for the Easter holiday.
As usual, Linus is convinced that the mysterious “Easter Beagle” will deliver eggs to everyone—no need to do any preparation!
But Sally is sceptical, Peppermint Patty and Marcie struggle hilariously with egg-decorating, and Charlie Brown, well, he’s just trying to make it through another holiday without disappointment.
All the while, Snoopy adds his usual flair and fun, especially when shopping for Woodstock.
With its gentle humour, charming animation, and iconic Vince Guaraldi music, this holiday special captures the joy and anticipation of Easter while delivering a sweet message about trust and tradition.
A timeless favourite for Peanuts fans of all ages.
