In September, while in the UK to attend the ABBA Voyage concert, I realised a long-held dream to visit the ABBA Museum in Stockholm, Sweden. As a blind person, what interested me most was the aural experience. Sporting my digital recorder, I was able to leave the museum with some extraordinary audio. I have compiled this into a three-hour documentary and celebration of ABBA, called Mosen at the Museum. All four band members talk about their early lives, how they met each other, when Benny and Anni-Frid fell in love and when Agnetha and Björn became a couple.

Well, it's birthday season this week on The Early Years. Today is my birthday and tomorrow is Sara's husband, Mike's, which she mentioned on her show last week.

Yes, it's that time of year again: time to tell spooky stories and listen to haunting songs in honour of Halloween on Mushroom FM's Folk and Celtic music show! We'll learn about All Soul's Night, demon lovers, restless ghosts, and encounters with elves, fairies and other strange beings. IN short, we'll have a fun time! We'll be drawing greatly on the ballads collected some hundred years ago by Francis Child. They're often long, are filled with a healthy dose of spook, and are simply fascinating. When released in 1966, the Revolver album broke new ground. Rather than just going into the studio to record performances, the Beatles viewed the studio as a canvas with which they could paint musical pictures impossible to make on-stage. They challenged their producer and engineers to create new sounds and find better ways of capturing their work. As it turned out, the Beatles days as a live band were over. Like sponges, they were soaking up musical and cultural influences.
