We’re back for another week of your chitchat on Mushroom FM’s global, international and worldwide talk show, A Cuppa at the Mosens. This week, we’re beginning a series, which we hope to do every month or so for the next few months.

One of the things that really makes Mushroom FM stand out head and shoulders above a lot of other options is the great personalities we have on the team. There’s room for more, of course, and we have an announcement about a new recruit very soon. But we thought it would be great to give you a chance to learn more about the members of our team.

Every week day, I’m here at 3 AM Eastern time, 8 AM in the UK, 7 PM in New Zealand.

Earlier today my time, word came through of the death of Glen Campbell, aged 81, after a very public battle with Alzheimer’s.

On the next Smorgasbord, I’ll be paying tribute to Glen Campbell with an hour of some of his greatest hits.

Hello, I'm Steve Cutway. It's a variety of 50s and 60s music this week including a tripple play consisting of a 60s singles flip and a summer song (I'm still there)! I'll also play three #6 songs and 3 #7 songs.

Every week, well, most weeks anyway, we bring you the Mosen Explosion on the marvellous, mighty Mushroom malarkey. Like the famous old song says, it’s what we do, each and every Sunday, on the ‘shroom at 2.

The Juke In The Back” focuses on the “soul that came before rock n’ roll,” the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.

On 5 August, 1967 Pink Floyd’s first studio album, The Piper At The Gates of Dawn was released.
This makes it’s 50 years ago today.
So to celebrate this, from 11pm Eastern tonight, that’s 3pm Sunday in New Zealand and 4am Sunday in the UK, it’s a four-hour Pink Floyd show.
And because it’s a four hour show, I have a challenge for you.
Simply send me an e-mail with your favourite Pink Floyd song, and also album.
Hopefully, if we get enough responses, we can see what track/album is number one according to Mushroom FM listeners.

We sometimes meet people, some of them blind, who suggest that there’s a real advantage to being blind. Specifically, we’re likely to be less judgmental, less discriminatory, about visual factors that we can’t see. Proponents of this view argue that because we can’t see the colour of someone’s skin, we’re more likely to make assessments based on the content of their character. We don’t, it is said, no so readily whether someone’s short or tall, fat or thin, the quality of their clothes. This makes us, so the argument goes, more tolerant people.

I have just returned from my vacation and am suitably happy to be home. The cottage was lovely and the company was even better, and consequently, I'm quite pleasantly nackered. Don't worry though. We at Mushroom FM have planned for this eventuality, and for the first time in the history of Come by the Hills, the Celtic Music Show, your host for this week will not be me, Sara Hillis. Instead, Anne Cosgrove, fellow fun guy and Celtic enthusiast, has a great show lined up with some amazing song and artist selections!

Every day, every day, every day, every day I write the book. Oh baby! But I’m taking a wee break from writing the book to bring you another thoroughly forgettable edition of the jolly old Mosen Explosion at 2 Pm Eastern, 7 PM in the Kingdom of U.

It’s hosted by me, Jonathan Mosen, the man of whom the famous Anthony Scaramucci, AKA “the mooch” said, “Mosen’s nothing but a paranoid souping soup drinker and a Baker Street lover, out to tap his own cane and we should explode the whole communications team”. Dude, such language!
