This week on The Mosen Explosion, happy birthday Tom Lehrer

One of my favourite satirists and comedians of all time, Tom Lehrer, blows out 89 candles on the 9th of April.

Tom Lehrer wrote songs when it interested him, and didn’t when it didn’t. This means that his total body of work is small, but the quality is absolutely superb.

If you’ve not heard any of Tom Lehrer’s music before, then you probably haven’t been that regular a listener to The Mosen Explosion, or, for that matter, Funny Fridays. But fear not, we’ll rehabilitate you on this week’s show. If, like me, you’re a huge fan, then please feel free to request your favourite Tom Lehrer track and I will play it with much delight.

In other news, I have further information on Mushroom FM’s latest forthcoming show, Bonnie is here with her bulletin, we’ll look back at today in history, and I have huuuuuuuuge, I mean, absolutely, enormously huuuuuuuuuge Beatles news.

I simply cannot wait to be in your company once more. It’s all here right after Uncle Darren at 2 PM Eastern, 7 PM UK, on the often imitated, never truly emulated, home of the fun guys, Mushroom FM.
