Music and stories are Christmas traditions

After the presents have been opened, the turkey has been eaten (some of it at least), and it's Christmas night when you can hopefully enjoy a bit of well deserved down time. Why not pour a glass of your favourite Christmas cheer and join me for some Christmas traditions, tonight from 07:00 until 09:00 PM North American Eastern Time on Mushroom FM.
Hi, I'm Steve Cutway. In the first hour, you'll hear the story of the making of what many musicologists consider to be the first Rock and Roll Christmas album, "A Christmas Gift For You from Phil Spector", first released November 22, 1963 but pulled back until the following year because of the assassination of US President, John Fitzgerald Kennedy that day.
In hour 2, I'll have favourite holiday stories written and performed by two storytellers, a Canadian and an American who, although they hav different writing and presentation styles, have a lot in common, to the extent that they once performed together on radio.
You'll hear a cautionary tale about the consequences of giving into an impulse that you shouldn't, particularly when your Mother tells you not to; Christmas news from Lake Wobegon; and a story about the challenges trying to retrieve Christmas cards after they've been posted, all linked together by Christmas music from the early years of the Rock And roll era, my specialty.
So relax with me, Steve cutway, and Christmas Traditions, tonight from 07:00 until 09:00 PM, followed by "A Great White Northern Christmas" with the Snowman from 09:00 PM until midnight, on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys.
In North America, we say, "Merry Christmas". In much of the world, they say, "Happy Christmas". I wish you both. And thanks for being a part of the Mushroom FM family.
