This weekend in the Rockumentary, the remarkable story of Radio City
Our popular look at offshore radio continues this weekend on Mushroom FM in our rockumentary slot.
During the height of British offshore radio, not all of the stations broadcast from ships. Others found derelict forts and broadcast from there. One such station was Radio City. While perhaps not as well-known as Radio Caroline and Radio London, it had an authentic sound, a loyal following, and a tragic history which precipitated Government action to bring the offshore radio era to an end. This week, join us for the story of Radio City as well as extracts from its last broadcast. Unlike Radio London's slick final hour, Radio City didn't hold back.
You can hear the rockumentary on Sunday at 2 PM Eastern, and again on Sunday at 11 PM Eastern. Our schedule displays in your time zone when you visit the schedule page on our website.
