A month of encore presentations continues this week on The Early Years!

My month of encore presentations from this time in 2022 continues this week.
The show begins with the song that will tell you what Sunday's date is, and has the longest instrumental intro of any song I know. Why? Just because!
We lost a rock and roll pioneer on August 22, 2022, Jerry Ivan Allison, best known as the drummer with The Crickets. I'll pay tribute to him playing four songs he co-wrote with Buddy Holly, along with his cover of the song that some Australian musicologists have suggested might be the first Australian Rock and Roll record.
Last week, I began a double celebration for my friends, John and Laurie, who celebrated both her birthday and their anniversary on consecutive days. As I have done for other listeners celebrating special occasions, I invited John and Laurie to suggest songs that are special to them, that they like, or both. Laurie sent me a list of superb songs that represent the sound track of our lives growing up in the '50s and '60s and I'm continuing to play them this week. If you were listening to the radio during the early years of Rock and Roll, I think you'll agree that these are great songs.
And we'll be seeing John and Laurie this weekend.
Dan Sweeney's One Hit wonders is not the show I promote in this week's replay but it's an equally good show, "instrumental one hit wonders from the 50s, 60s and 70s part 3". He did parts 1 and 2 earlier this year.
