My month of encore presentations from this time in 2022 continues this week.
Last week on the first encore presentation, I dedicated the show to my friends, Hank and Marian in Ottawa when they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary August 19, 2022. This week, a double celebration begins for my friends, John and Laurie who celebrate both her birthday and their anniversary on consecutive days. How cool is that!
It's a privilege and honour for me to replay this show. I hope everyone has as long-lasting a friendship with someone like I've had with John and Laurie.
As I have done for other listeners celebrating special occasions, I invited John and Laurie to suggest songs that are special to them, that they like, or both. Laurie sent me a list of superb songs that represent the sound track of our lives growing up in the '50s and '60s and I'm going to play them all. This week's music covers a narrow, 8-year timeline from 1956-64.
If you were listening to the radio during the early years, I think you'll agree that these are great songs.
