1949 music this week on The Early Years!
After you've enjoyed "songs that go bleep bleep bleep" on The Mosen Explosion, don't touch that device and join me for The Early Years where you'll enjoy the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.
This week, it's a year before the four decades of music that Mushroom FM usually plays, 1949; because Mushroom FM's oldest fun guy (that would be me) turns 70 on Monday. To celebrate my achieving the 3 score and 10 years allotted in Holy Scripture, I will play music from 1949. At that time, the chart was called the hit parade and typically consisted of 30 songs. I'll begin the top 30 and include some interesting facts about the year 1949. I'll get to #11 and finish the top 10 next week which will lead nicely into my next theme, "Seconds". What is that? You'll just have to tune in to find out.
You can contact me any time by e-mail at steve@mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows; and anything else you want to talk about as well.
So join me, Steve Cutway, in The Early Years, for 1949 music, tonight at 06:00 PM, after The Mosen Explosion and before Snow White FM. The show replays Wednesday morning at 07:00 AM, before Anthony Unleashed, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making four decades of magic mushroom memories!
