We've Got a Sneaky Saint this Week on Come by the Hills!

Well alright, so Andrew isn't actually sneaky, but his day kind of crept up on me this year. It's a good thing that I already had some Scottish tunes in the playlist this week, so I can pretend that I had planned for St. Andrew's Day, which is November 30 and a day for Scottish culture everywhere, all along. so yes. We have some Scottish tunes for andrew, a "Celtic Cover" featuring Jethro Tull, and of course our other usual things like "Me Music" and "Fiddlin' Around." You shan't be disappointed if you tune in!

We're on the Ball this Week on Come by the Hills!

No, there are no squares here, with the possible exception of some of the dance tunes. Come by the Hills is back on Sunday night with three hours of amazing Celtic music for your enjoyment. Everything is firmly in its place, all features back where they belong and a whole bunch of great songs to go with them, and of course I'm here as usual with my folky reminiscences and banter about all things Celtic. I just had someone tell me last week that come by the Hills is now firmly established as part of her Sunday night routine, so why not make it part of yours?

Friday Fun is Back Again on The Sara Hillis Show!

Yes, it's that time again, time to dust off the old novelty category in the playlist and feature some fun things to make your Friday fly by. I've decided to feature cops and robbers this week, so in our back-to-back music mixes, we'll have sketches and songs from Stan Freberg, Billy Howard, and The Royal Canadian Air Farce. Plus, we'll have your usual mix of magic mushroom memories which will keep you groovin' on through your day in fine style. So, if you're in the mood for an arresting two hours of fun, check out the Friday Fun edition of The Sara Hillis Show.

We're Honouring Remembrance Day this Week on Come by the Hills!

In honour of those who have made the supreme sacrifice, I have decided to feature several songs on this week's edition of Come by the Hills which relate to the two world wars. We'll have all our usual features including a double dose of "Me Music" featuring my latest musical effort, plus a brand new single by Loreena McKennitt in honour of the hundredth anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge, and many more great and thought-provoking songs about what it was like to be involved in these wars.

Monday is a Great Day on The Sara Hillis Show!

Monday Monday. Do you sometimes feel that you just can't trust that day? Well, don't worry. You can put your trust in one thing at least. I'm here again with another edition of The Sara Hillis Show. Today, we talk cover versions of songs which were more successful than their originals, we hear from all sorts of great artists and bands, and of course, I muse about strange and silly things as I always do. So, why not hang out with me at noon or midnight eastern standard time, for the anything-but-standard Sara Hillis Show, right here on Mushroom FM!

More Great Celtic Music this Week on Come by the Hills!

Yes, the folkish favourites are back again for another week. We've got three hours of great music from Stan Rogers, Loreena McKennitt, Steeleye Span and more, as well as our usual features: "Me Music," "Fiddlin' Around" and "Celtic Covers." We're also testing out a new bit of software for the first time on this show, so it should be quite a fun time. Therefore, (we mustn't start a sentence with "so," must we?) if you're game, come along with me and we'll experiment and experience awesome Celtic music together.

It's Guy Fawkes Friday Fun Tomorrow on the Sara Hillis Show!

Please to remember the third of november? No, wait. That's not right, but as the fifth of November is on Sunday, I thought we'd celebrate that most British of holidays with a few British novelty songs on the Friday Fun version of The Sara Hillis Show. But don't worry. No effogies will be burned in the production of this episode. We may also talk about the gun powder plot itself as well. Was Fawkes just a fall guy? Who knows? All I do know is that I hope you'll join me tomorrow at noon or midnight Eastern time for the Fawkesy Friday Fun edition of The Sara Hillis Show!

Halloween Music is Haunting Come by the Hills this Week!

Wel, it's that time of the year once again, the time when the veil between the worlds grows thin and spirits walk abroad among men! At least, that's what the celts believed about the time we now call Halloween. In accordance with this, I'm playing songs and tales about murder, mayhem, myth and even more this week on Come by the Hills! We won't be having our usual features, but who needs them when the music's this good? We've got Steeleye Span, Stan Rogers, Pentangle, Kate Rusby, Artisan, Loreena McKennitt, Fairport Convention and so much more that it's downright scary, I tell you!

It's an Early Halloween Addition of Friday Fun Today on the Sara Hillis Show!

We've got lots of great music as usual today on The Sara Hillis Show, but if you're already in the spooktacular Halloween spirit, we'll have a couple of novelty bits on today's back-to-back music mixes which should give you a wicked start to your weekend. So get ready to howel with delight and hang out with me today at 12:00 PM Eastern or on Saturday at the witching hour. That's 12:00 AM Eastern. You'll have a scarily-good time! Mwahahahahahahahahaha!

It's Thankful Thursday with a Listener-inspired Playlist Tomorrow on The Sara Hillis Show!

"Wow!" you're saing. "That Sara is really on the ball today with her blog entry!" The truth is that if it weren't for a listener's lovely email, I wouldn't have had nearly as much to write about for tomorrow's show. However, Elizabeth emailed me with a tale of woe. She has been longing to hear some songs by Beth Nielsen Chapman, and she can't find her anywhere on iTunes in her region. So, we're going to devote part of our Thursday on The Sara Hillis Show to this amazing singer-songwriter.
