Were you a teenager like me, in the 1990’s?
Were you a child in the 1990’s that danced and sung to groups like the Spice Girls?
Did you have a group of friends, and you’d quietly sing songs in the style of Boys to men?
Perhaps you were in your 20’s or older, but loved the music for its variety such as trip-hop or grunge to name a couple?

On Monday, 26 June, Team New Zealand, despite so many things working against them, lifted the Old Mug yet again!
The America’s Cup, is once again New Zealand’s cup!
It was actually very early on Tuesday morning here in New Zealand when it took place. I was watching from a motel room away for work.
I remember the celebrations back in 1995 when New Zealand won it for the first time, and then retained it back in 2000.
I also remember the heart break before 1995, and the choke on the water back in 2013, and 2003, 2007 and so on...
But, not, this time!

Four hours of the usual mayhem awaits you, and plenty of time for requests as well.
Did I say Lorde is back?

Here in New Zealand it’s Queen’s Birthday weekend.
This means all around the country, everyone in New Zealand will be cranking up their speakers and blasting the awesome sound that is queen.
At least, they would be if I had my way..
It’s actually to celebrate the Queen’s birthday, even though it’s not actually her birthday, you see. Confused?
See, there are two good things about being part of the Commonwealth.
One, we get to watch yet another sporting event every four years.

As it’s the last Saturday in May, it’s also the final four hour special, and what a fun month it’s been.
Plenty of requests from fellow Kiwi listeners, and so many songs I’ve not played in years, and today will be the same.
If you’d like to get in a request for your favourite Kiwi track, then simply e-mail: anthony at mushroomfm dot com

If you’ve been listening to the Shed over the last three weeks, either live or via the replay, you’ll be aware of a discussion we’ve been having.
We’ve been talking about songs with people’s names in the title.
Things like, ‘The Wind cries Mary’ or ‘Daniel’, just to name a couple.
As promised, from 11pm Eastern tonight, that 4am Sunday in the UK and 3Pm Sunday here in good old New Zealand, we will be featuring songs with people’s names somewhere in the title.
