Start your weekend by going bakc in time to the 50s

Hi, I'm Steve Cutway. Come with me and get Lost in the 50s today at 5 PM North America Eastern Time on Mushroom FM, the home of the Fun Guys.
39 years ago this past Tuesday, Elvis Presley was found dead in his Graceland mansion bathroom from what would be determined was a drug overdose. He was only 42, young from this fun guy's perspective.
I'm remembering Elvis this week by playing all his singles, some of which also appeared on EPs, from 1954-59. Yesterday's show ended with the Peace in the Valley EP from April 1957. On today' show , Elvis's singles from the second half of 1957 when Presley Mania was in full swing, and 1958 when his Mom died and he was drafted into the US army. The show ends with an announcement about the final concert of the Tragically Hip's Man, Machine and Poem tour that's being broadcast and live streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It has absolutely nothing to do with remembering Elvis but it's significant in Canada.

So if you're old like me and remember the 50s, or if you just like the music, start your weekend by joining me today at 5 PM and get Lost in the 50s, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making magic mushroom memories!
