Book Club
Welcome readers everywhere, to the home of the Mushroom FM Book Club. Membership is free, and we welcome everyone's participation. All you have to do to be a member is read this month's book, and then join in on the discussion about the book.
On the first Saturday of every month at 12 PM Eastern, 5 PM UK, , the Mushroom FM Book Club meets in our voice chat room to discuss the book we've all had a month to read. We discuss the style of writing, the subject matter, the characters, and really, anything relating to the book and the thoughts you have on it. It's fascinating how different people can view one book and its characters in different ways.,
Highlights of the discussion will be broadcast on Bonnie Mosen's show, BonAir, on the following Tuesday.
After we discuss the book we've just read, we preview the next one. Every month, a Mushroom FM fun guy or listener chooses a book that they consider noteworthy. Sometimes it's fiction, sometimes it's not. Sometimes there's romance, sometimes it's biography, sometimes it's fantasy, and sometimes it's sci-fi. So chances are you'll eventually be introduced to authors and genres you might otherwise never have read. The Mushroom FM Book Club really broadens your reading horizons.

This Month's Book
February's book, which we'll be discussing at our March meeting, has been chosen by Mushroom FM's Brian Hartgen. It's "Only Time will Tell" by Jeffrey Archer. This is the first book in the "Clifton Chronicles" series.
The first novel in the Clifton Chronicles, an ambitious new series that tells the story of a family across generations and oceans, from heartbreak to triumph, from #1 New York Times bestselling author Jeffrey Archer
The epic tale of Harry Clifton's life begins in 1920, with the words "I was told that my father was killed in the war." A dock worker in Bristol, Harry never knew his father and expects to continue on at the shipyard, until a remarkable gift wins him a scholarship to an exclusive boys' school, and his life will never be the same again...
As Harry enters into adulthood, he finally learns how his father really died, but the awful truth only leads him to question: Was he even his father? Is he the son of Arthur Clifton, a stevedore, or the firstborn son of a scion of West Country society, whose family owns a shipping line? From the ravages of the Great War and the docks of working-class England to the streets of 1940 New York City and the outbreak of the Second World War, this is a powerful journey that will bring to life one hundred years of history to reveal a family story that neither the reader nor Harry Clifton himself could ever have imagined.
