Hi Everyone.

It's great to be back after an enforced break caused by my computer suffering a major melt-down.
This weekend in Australia we have a federal election, so we'll be talking about some of our odd election traditions such as Democracy Sausages. I also have lots to share about my travels, and other things going on in the McMorrow household. In the last week, I found time to do some baking, and had a second go at Irish Mark's buttermilk scons, and this time, the recipe worked so I'll be able to share it with you.

Coming up on Saturday at the Described Movies: Cast Away and A Walk to Remember.

From this Saturday at 12am Eastern, that’s 4pm Saturday in NZ, 2pm in Sydney and 5am in the UK, and repeated every four hours throughout the day, it’s the described movies Cast Away from 2000, and A Walk to Remember from 2002.
Cast Away is a 2000 American survival drama film directed and produced by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, Helen Hunt, and Nick Searcy.
Hanks plays a FedEx trouble shooter stranded on an uninhabited island after his plane crashes in the South Pacific, and the plot focuses on his desperate attempts to survive and return home.

This week, the “Juke In The Back” pays our respects to one of the great record men of the 1940s and 50s; Art Rupe. Rupe passed away on April 15, 2022 at the age of 104! He started Juke Box Records in 1945, which would become Specialty Records in ’47 and go on to become one of the most important independent labels of Rhythm & Blues and early Rock n’ Roll.
