Gabriel Fauré on tonight's Nocturnal dreams

On the show tonight, I will be featuring the work of French composer Gabriel Fauré who influenced many 20th century composers like Claude Debussy. I will be implementing what will hopefully become a somewhat regular new feature on the program, a documentary series from the BBC called building a library which discusses specific works of different composers so since I'm featuring the work of Gabriel Fauré, the documentary will go into some detail about his nocturnes. I hope you'll find this new addition to the program to be educational and informative and that it will complement the featured artist profiles quite nicely.

The highlight of tonights broadcast for me anyway, is playing his Requiem which is a beautifully dark piece, in his own words, a lullaby of death, not written for any one specific person but just because he wanted to write a Requiem.

I hope you'll join me at 10 PM eastern for 3 hours of music and conversation about one of Frances leading composers during the latter half of the 19th and early part of the 20th century.

Thanks for listening.

this week's blind flight

Hello.

This week on the program, there's no particular theme, label or artist I'm featuring. I will be playing a variety of tracks by artists like Frore, cyberCHUMP, Darkened Soul, Jacob Newman, Orion's Belt, Janne Hanhisuanto, Una Voce, and Robert Rich.

The show begins at 8 PM eastern and runs until 1 in the morning on Saturday. So for 5 hours of ambient music you're not likely to hear anywhere else, I'd be thrilled to have you along for this voyage of sonic exploration on the blind flight. Thanks for listening.
