We're Springing into Spring this Week on Come by the Hills!

It's chilly and wintry still here in my part of Canada, but the Spring Equinox is coming whether the weather knows it or not. So, in order to encourage hope that this winter really will end someday soon, I'm going to pack this week's Celtic music show full of Spring things!

For instance, did you know that people used to wassail in the Spring? You just thought it had to do with Christmas, right? Well, it's true. Why do you think there are those "leaves so green" in the well-known wassailing Christmas song? It's because Wassailing used to be a custom which was done in the Spring to wish for a prosperous harvest from fruit trees and other crops. You'll learn all about this and other interesting things on this episode.

We of course have our usual features: "Me Music," (music made by me, that is,) "Fiddlin' Around" and "Celtic Covers," and they all have a Springlike connection. So, if you're tired of the snows and winds of Winter and long for a breath of new green, then join me on Sunday night at 8:00 PM Eastern, with a replay on Friday at 4:00 AM, 8:00 AM (for now at least) in the UK and Ireland!
