We're Remembering This Week on Come By The Hills!
As November 11 is Remembrance Day in Canada and Veterans' Day in the United States, and as the Sunday nearest that date is celebrated as Remembrance Sunday in the UK, I thought it fitting to see what Celtic music has to say on the subject of war and its effects. Not all the songs on Sunday's show will be war-themed, but they will be peppered liberally throughout the show, along with the return of our usual features of course.
Also, I'll pause from the Celtic music for a moment to remember Leonard Cohen and to play a song which has a very Celtic feel to it and which is also my favourite song ever. Hint: it isn't Halleluia, but it's from the same album. Have fun speculating until Sunday.
We'll hear from artists like Eric Bogle, Davy Arthur and The Furies, Nova Scotia's own Terry Kelly and many more. I'll also tell you about an exciting initiative I've undertaken and play the song which is at its centre.
Want to know more? Well, you'll just have to tune in on Sunday night at 8:00 Eastern or catch the replay on Friday morning at 4:00 AM Eastern to find out what more is in store on this week's installment of Come By The Hills!
