Movie 1: Knives Out (2019)
Knives Out (2019) is a modern mystery film that cleverly pays tribute to the classic whodunnit genre.
The story begins when renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey is found dead at his sprawling estate shortly after celebrating his 85th birthday with his
eccentric and quarrelsome family.
Detective Benoit Blanc, a charming and highly observant private investigator, is mysteriously hired to investigate the case. As he interviews each member
of the Thrombey family, it quickly becomes clear that everyone had a possible motive for murder. Hidden secrets, family tensions, and conflicting alibis
begin to surface, making the truth increasingly difficult to untangle.
Directed by Rian Johnson, the film blends suspense, humour, and social commentary while delivering a cleverly constructed mystery. With an ensemble cast
and a series of surprising twists, Knives Out keeps audiences guessing right up to its satisfying conclusion.

Movie 2: Ten Thousand Saints (2015)
Ten Thousand Saints (2015) is a coming-of-age drama set in the vibrant and rebellious music scene of 1980s New York City. Based on the novel by Eleanor
Henderson, the film follows teenager Jude Keffy-Horn, who moves from rural Vermont to Manhattan after the tragic death of his best friend.
In the city, Jude reconnects with his estranged father and becomes involved with a group of young people immersed in the straight edge punk movement—a
subculture that promotes a lifestyle free from drugs and alcohol. As Jude navigates new friendships, complicated family relationships, and the pressures
of growing up, he begins to discover who he truly wants to be.
Directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, the film captures the energy and atmosphere of the era while exploring themes of identity, grief,
rebellion, and belonging. With strong performances and a rich musical backdrop, Ten Thousand Saints offers a thoughtful and emotional portrait of youth
searching for meaning and connection.
