Final Sara Smiles of 2025 Tomorrow, Christmas With the Carpenters on Thursday, and Remembering Peter Yarrow Once More on Come by the Hills on sunday!
Hello! Sara Hillis here to let you know my holiday plans! Well, okay, not quite my holiday plans, but my plan regarding my contributions to Mushroom FM during this holiday season.
I know the schedule says that there will be a single Sara Smiles at midnight Eastern on Christmas Eve, but this will not be the case. Tomorrow, December 23rd, will be the final Sara Smiles for 2025. We'll be talking Festivus with the cast of Seinfeld and playing the usual tunes from all four decades of Magic Mushroom Memories, with a few holiday things in the mix as well.
Then, after a much-deserved break from me on Wednesday as you've had to put up with me and my castigatory ways all year, I'm back on Thursday with avengeance, or at least a cozy Christmas sweater, to present Christmas With the Carpenters at noon Eastern time! And that will be the last new Mushroom-related thing I'll be doing for 2025!
There will be an episode of Come by the Hills on Sunday, December 28th, in which we revisit our Peter Yarrow tribute episode we did on January 12th of this year. That show really came to define the year on Come by the Hills, spawning a new catch-phrase with "keep your dragons safe," and setting the tone for the show as a space where peace and shared humanity could flourish, or crystalizing that ideal at least. So, I hope you enjoy the remainder of 2025, and will join me when I return to Mushroom FM on January 4th, 2026 with a new episode of Come by the Hills, and on January 5th, 2026 with more Sara Smiles. Now though, I wanted to take the time to wish you the best of the season, merry Christmas, happy holidays, a Festivus for the rest of us, and of course, all good things in the year ahead. Thanks so much for listening to my shows and to Mushroom FM as a whole! There would be no point in doing what we do here if it weren't for you! And let's all try to remember that even when it isn't, it is still, somehow and finally, a beautiful world, if we try very hard to let it be so!
