Remembering Chuck Mangione this week on The Early Years!
After you've enjoyed The Mosen explosion with Jonathan Mosen tomorrow afternoon from 2 to 4 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from the first quarter century of Rock with occasional nods to other decades and genres.
This week's show is all jazz as I remember and pay tribute to Chuck Mangione who passed away July 22 peacefully in his sleep in his home in Rochester, NY at the age of 84. I'll also play three songs by the late Ramsey Lewis who would have been 90 this year had he lived; but he passed away in September 2022. I paid tribute to him at the time but he's a contemporary of Chuck Mangione and he played an equally important role in jazz.
You can contact me any time by email at steve at mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows, particularly long songs.
So join me, Steve Cutway, for The Early Years, tomorrow afternoon at 4 PM, where and when I will make musical and magical memories remembering Chuck Mangione and Ramsey Lewis, after The Mosen explosion with Jonathan Mosen and before Story Untold with PJ Noce. Then stay tuned for Your Favourite Blend with Nicki Keck. The Early Years will replay Friday morning at 7 AM, after Decades in HD with PJ Noce and before Your Favourite Blend with Nicki Keck, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making four decades of magic mushroom memories.
